A lot comes down to Marlie handling the reins in a 5-1. Time will tell. You're right. We have the talent, height, defense, etc. Chemistry will be better this year with essentially the same starting lineup. The offense was so unpredictable this year in the 6-2. Hall's injury and the depth of talent in a young team complicated things. Florida was never supposed to achieve much in 2018. It's been about preparing for 2019 and 2020 for a while now.

I thought this would of been the right time to invest in the youth. I do not think the youth complicated things I just think the lack of experience came out and UK had more talent. UF had the 2nd best class come in and did not invest much time into them. Just saying

They could’ve achieved more than they did in 2018, I think most people were expecting at least to be seeded in the tournament at the beginning of they year. Halls injury really took that away. They beat Nebraska and could’ve beaten Kentucky with hall. They could’ve really given BYU a push had hall been healthy. I don’t think many people were counting them out in 2018 especially after seeing hall play the first couple of weeks. Carltons drop off also hurt them.

Do you all think hammons will hold her spot as a 6 rotation player neck to year? I hope so. I just don't think a player (Ceasar) who made 1st team All-SEC, and All Region as a freshman in 2017 is going to transfer to a program where she will not be on the court. Hall is clearly going to be playing OH as long as she is healthy, and IMO Ceasar will be the other OH to start the 2019 season. I also don't think this would be declared until the start of the 2019 season because Wise does not want to lose a player of value to transferring after the spring. If the above does occur then I would not be surprised if Hammons was moved to libero because she was the most consistent player in serve receive in 2018, and she would only get better defensively if that was her main focus. She could also be used as an OH in case of injury or one of the starters were having an off match. If Hammons does not get moved to libero then she will be a DS and 3rd OH.

But at libero the Gators would miss Hammons’ back row attack. Nice to have options!!

Friend of mine just suggested this- what if Paige played back row for Thayer? We wouldn’t lose the back row offense, we’d gain a bit on the defensive end, and Paige’s serve has been wonderful. This would also give Thayer more time to heal if it’s a long-standing injury or something.

That is what I thought, why would Ceasar leave is she not going to play? Hammons could not play libero, she will be a junior and right now Gregory is certainly better than her. Hammons defense is not up to par to be a libero at all. She has great serve receive but was a weak middle back defender. She isn’t very scrappy at all. If hammons transfers, hopefully she would come to Louisville !! We would like her back home

Simple as that.

I am from Louisville and my sisters went to high school with her. I have seen her play many times and was so angry sokolowski played infornt of her 2 years ago. If it were my way I would have hammons continue in 6 rotations, but Mary will make the choice of what’s best for the team, and that may be ceaser on the left with hall.
