Palisades will take it this year imo. Outside of the teams you mentioned, Santa Barbara and Newbury Park should be pretty good

Palisades is not in CIF Southern Section bc they are part of LAUSD, they are a part of LA City Section

I believe Newport has a shot this year... With Karlous, Chalmers and Schroder returning as their big 3, they can beat CDM imo...

Anyone know how many division 2 teams from spring 2018 moved up to division 1 for 2019? Who moved down from division 1 to division 2 who will be good?

I believe Newport has a shot this year... With Karlous, Chalmers and Schroder returning as their big 3, they can beat CDM imo... They lost a lot in Ethan Talley, Cole Pender and Jack Higgs and there wasn't a whole bunch of talent coming up from JV-- unless they pick up a super freshman. With the retirement of CdM's Steve Conti I suspect that program will have some growing pains--especially since they too have lost a bunch of talented Seniors. Play will be down and the time could be ripe for teams like San Clemente, Los Alamitos, Santa Margarita, and Huntington Beach to grab the reigns.

Here are projected starters for NH: Karlous (S), Higgs (Opp), Chalmers (OH), Schroeder (L)-- they're on the lookout for a breakout OH2 and 2 MHs.
