SEC Co-Defensive Players of the Week - Florida's Allie Gregory, a senior libero from Louisville, Ky., averaged 4.38 digs per set over two wins that helped secure a share of the 2019 SEC Volleyball title for the Gators. Gregory registered a career-high 25 digs against Texas A&M, moving her into seventh place in program history with 1,341 digs. Kentucky's Gabby Curry, a junior libero from Buford, Ga., averaged 4.71 digs per set over two victories as UK clinched a share of the 2019 SEC Volleyball title. Curry recorded 23 digs at LSU as she helped UK hold the two opponents to a .138 hitting percentage on the week. Are these really even player of the WEEK awards anymore or are we rewarding people for their seasons? (I thought we already gave awards for that out this week!) They gave two players the defensive award, yet one of them was not the libero (making her first two starts of the season, by the way) who had 5.71 digs per set over two wins, held both opponents to a .121 hitting percentage and dug up 28 balls in a single match (6th most in a league game this year). Sorry for the rant! Rough season for Vol fans but thought we deserved a few more weekly awards than we got -- especially this week.

6 SEC teams in the tourney this year. What are some predictions on how far each of the teams will go?

I thought Gomez would make all conference. Tom Black definitely should have won COY, IMO. The sum of that team is much better than the parts. Who on UGA is top 3 in the conference at her position? TAMU finished higher in the conference standings(13-5 vs 12-6) and ended with a higher RPI.

For the week ending 11/30: Curry: 4.71dps/1assist per set/1ace per match Gregory: 4.38dps/0.5assist per set/1ace per match Cianciulli: 5.14dps/1assist per set/1 ace per match Phillips: 5.71dps/0.7assist per set/1 ace per match Soooo, who had the best week??? Sorry James, Phillips deserved this one hands down!

UGA was picked near the bottom of the conference and finished in the top 5. I think that’s the posters point. I think both Kuhn or Black would have been fine choices but conference standing and RPI are not the only criteria imho!

A&M finished about right where they were supposed to where Georgia was supposed to finith in the bottom tier of the conference. Georgia loses their prized OH to Florida and Black took this group of "misfit toys" and molded them into a pretty solid group! Point Black in my opinion. He definitely did more with less!!

6 SEC teams in the tourney this year. What are some predictions on how far each of the teams will go? I have to admit to complete ignorance about college volleyball nationally. When I get a chance to watch volleyball on TV, it's usually a replay of an SEC game. I saw a couple of the non-SEC teams in the tournament, in person, against Carolina. Florida should have no problem with UCF, if they meet. Wisconsin is the best team I saw all year. That would be a difficult matchup for A&M, if they meet. That's all I got. As far as South Carolina goes, they are the most consistent sports team I've ever followed. Sometimes infuriatingly so. 0-10 versus the top 25. 19-1 against the rest of the schedule. They have shown no ability to raise their level of play, so I would be happy if they could at least win one.

I would rank each of the SEC first round match ups in order of difficulty as:
1. South Carolina vs Colorado St. - going to be tough for SC to overcome very steady middle driven top 20 team 2. Georgia vs Cal Poly - Poly is big and plays smart. Georgia will need it's A game to advance. 3. Texas A&M vs St John's - St John's just swept Creighton & beat Marquette 3-1 for Big East Title. nough said 4. Missouri vs UNI - UNI is very scappy and usually takes down a P5 in opening round if they are not ready! 5. Kentucky vs SEMO - should be an Auburn like match - 3-0 6. Florida vs Alabama St. - If Alabama St scores more than 15 in any of the 3 sets then Florida needs a kick
