OSU Men's VB is more important. More successful, at least, with more success coming up--Hanson will get at least one more national title before he retires, maybe another 2-3. The women's program...is it really improving compared to what's going on with Nebraska, Penn, Minnesota, Illinois, etc? The women's program has had many good years, just not the last two. Carlson promised the program would be great with him, better than it was with the prior Coach. I haven't seen a Final Four. I won't hold my breath. I'll just keep watching Pete put Final Four and Title banners up. When Carlson puts a banner up, then you can talk about the women's program being big-time. Which will happen first--an WVB Elite 8 or a MVB National Title? I could even put money on two MVB Final Four coming before you see a WVB Elite 8.

Take nothing away from what Coach Hanson has built at Ohio State, but in complete fairness - it’s a shorter road to travel for MVB to hoist Final Four banners up in SJA than it is WVB to appear in Final Fours. Just until recently, all the men had to do was win the MIVA in order to be Final Four participants. Again, take nothing away from them - but that is an unfair comparison.

If the best retort is noticing spelling, I'll rest my case--the quality team there is MVB.

I also understand the WVB coach said he'd make OSU WVB great and I've seen no banners there in St. John for the Final Four or a Big Ten Title other than the 89/94 ones. Those were before his time. But the reality is, men's VB has gotten better and MVB has won titles in addition to reaching those Final Fours now. You can't do anything other than beat your competition--the men have done that, the women have not.

I of course agree that the men's team is better, better run, and better coached, than the women's team. I just didn't know why you didn't know the name of one of the coaches.

Standard lame internet one based on a typo. If you can't tell the difference, if you can't tell who is meant between Carlson/CarlsTon, it may explain why you don't understand why OSU WVB is middle-of-the-pack or that the men's program is superior. Tell me, would you have been able to tell the difference between Hanson and Hansen? Or would those have been too hard to comprehend from a typo as well?

Maybe the new venue and floor will lead to fewer injuries? 3 players with surgery in post season this year. 2 players in 2 years quitting the sport with injuries. Something not good as far as the many injuries, which is always the excuse for not winning. I don’t believe in the bad luck being the reason for all those injuries.

The men's team is of course much better, but would never draw that many fans.

As I said, I agree that the men's program is much better. Where did I say otherwise? The coach is way better. The results are way better. Did you see what I said comparing the programs? And yes, "Hanson" and "Hansen" are different names too. Just like "bkedane" and "lawnmowerfan" are different too (is that who you are confusing me with?).

How many of these former Buckeye VB players can you identify?
