Many fans especially in here are wondering why six teams from the Big West conference are in this year's tournament. Selection is over with and time to move on.
Good luck to all the Big West* teams and may y'all get past the first round this time instead of just two teams like last year.
Go Matadors!
*Idaho, LBSU, Pacific, UCI, UCSB and CSUN.

What would be considered a good post season for the Big West? 2-4 or 3-3 in R1? 4-6 overall?

I could see all the Big West teams getting knocked out in the first round.

I could see all the Big West teams getting knocked out in the first round. Not quite. LBSU has already beat Utah once this year. And UCSB is not going to have a problem either.

What would be considered a good post season for the Big West? 2-4 or 3-3 in R1? 4-6 overall? Keeping in mind that the NCAA tournament, more than anything else, is about matchups and the expectations that arise from them. Absolute peformance is hard to asses. You can't just say they should get x wins without considering who they are playing. That being said, what I would consider good for a conference would be to win those matches they should win (seeds, ranked, etc), to pull more than their share of those that are sufficiently close, and/or to pull a clear upset or two. You obviously don't want a top fleet representative going down, but you can survive some of the lower end bowing out, especially if they are clear underdogs. I don't see any of the Big West losses as all too surprising, and Pacific almost pulled off a win. In the end, it's not a good performance, but not bad, either. Basically, as expected. A Pacific win would have probably tipped that into a decent-good performance. In other conferences, the Big Ten has done well, with Purdue's win a big upset, and Michigan's win one of those "sufficiently close." Illinois losing tempers it a little, but they were certainly underdoggish againt Louisville. The Big 12 has been good as well, with Kansas having a very nice win, and nobody losing in the first round. The Pac Ten has been about as expected so far, even with Cal's loss. On the other end, the MWC folded like a cheap tent, and the WAC has ridden the coattails of Hawaii. Of course, neither of the other WAC teams would have been considered clear favorites, but the manner in which they fizzled, especially Rice's loss to a 6th place Big Ten team, does not reflect all that well.

The Pac 10 has done well also - the only team from their conference that has lost so far is California and they did win their first round match.

4 down...
Just kidding.
UOP makes conf proud and are owed a huge debt of gratitude by StMarys.
The other 3 teams that lost just had really tough draws. I had high expectations for a good match between Arizona and UCI but I had an unbelievalbly, over-hyped perception of what UCI might bring to the court. Most boring match I ever saw.
CSUN's match with KSU was pretty boring to listen to. Never a doubt of the outcome.
Idaho v Wash sans CM... oh well.
Was hoping Big West would go 3-3 but 2-4 was what one had to realistically expect and just hope not to be 1-5.
UCSB v GTech LBSU v UCLA
1-1 would be great for BW but I don't think it's gonna happen. (I've been wrong so much this year that they'll probably sweep both.)

The Big West has 4 losses, however, none of them were "bad" losses when you consider the teams they lost to in the tournament.
Pacific was very close to knocking off California.
