I agree. She can hit from all 3 spots and looks comfortable doing it. Good lateral movement blocking as well. I think her best shot is in the middle where she can use her quickness and fluidity which many tall middles lack

She is an absolute stud. So much poise as a freshman. Was the main offensive piece in what I believe was the best team this year. She has the best arm that Iv seen in the class. Reminds me of a more athletic Endsley who has a lot of shots and finesse but can totally destroy the ball.

My DD is also a 2023 playing up and have been watching Mele play for many years now. She has knock out power, literally. Just a fan, not a coach.

6-2 OH that is playing up 2 levels with the 16U team for an excellent California club - I don't think there is much risk in this commitment for BYU. A relatively recent 8th grade commit from the exact same area who also didn't carry much risk was recently pushed out of her commitment. In that regard no, there is no risk to BYU. They could always quietly push her out if she doesn't develop. Club is OK, not "excellent". Many top level girls from that area make the trek 40 or 50 minutes to play for better teams. They finished 15th in the first regional qualifier this year, and their 15U team finished 15th in region last year. "OK" club has arguably the two of the best 2023 recruits in the country, one of them making a 30 minute trek to play for them.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Mia Delahoussaye....... if she continues to improve her skills and just plays more, she could go REALLY high in the senior aces.

My club practices are 55 minutes away and I don’t consider that a trek lol. I know some people who drive 5 hours 2 times a week for club. THAT is a trek

I looked at their list of commitments, and while there aren't that many to the big schools, setter Molly Wilson has committed to Washington. Also, this was McKenna Miller's club, and that worked out pretty well for BYU. As for Claire Little, she just led Vista Murrieta to a state championship in California's top division in her freshman season. She was the best player in the championship match, hitting 30-5-51 (.490). So she seems to be developing nicely.
