He turned himself in too? So not only was he too dumb to delete the CP from his phone before driving himself to the police station, but he probably brought it with him as well. Wait, WTH? That is a great point. He drove down with a lawyer and had something on his phone too? No one can be that stupid especially since he was going down knowing they found his toilet cam. Do you think the police is exaggerating what is on his phone to get a bigger charge? It is just inconceivable that someone turning themselves in would do that? Did he leave evidence all over his house too?

Maybe it was a "business" phone that he kept at his office?

How could he possibly think he would get away with this? At least it’s one more predator off the streets...

It seems like "vb coach" in this case is incidental. But sometimes I wonder whether volleyball is disproportionately likely to attract predators. People always joke about "girls in spandex", but it might not be such a joke in some aspects.

Sorry to remind you all of this, but you might want to delay hanging or castration until after the trial. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Many people who are arrested do not get prosecuted in the first place and many who are prosecuted do not get convicted. Getting arrested for this is the last thing anybody would want.

You think the alternative is run from the cops because you're innocent? I am in no way saying he is innocent. He looks very, very guilty. But turning himself in has nothing to do with that.

So I'm still a newbie here and this is a dumb question, but this guy used to post here? Yes, mostly on the mens side. This doesn't have anything to do with this situation, but I wanted to relate a story about message boards. Years ago, I subscribed to the Pro Wrestling Torch trade publication and posted on its forum. Met many cool people with whom I still correspond with even though we all left that board. There were hundreds people at the Torch from all walks of life and from many different places. One of them was a pretty prolific poster who it was hard to have neutral feelings toward. A few years ago-long after Torch-we learned this individual had been convicted of armed robbery. We were all stunned. Even though we only knew of him through the Internet, it was weird knowing someone we had communicated with had done such a thing. Then one of us was reminded of a post this guy had made back at the Torch. He was complaining about the cost of NHL playoff tickets and how he was going to have to rob a bank to pay for them. We all knew we shouldn't have found that funny, but we did.

This story is insane to me. I'm curious to know how the trial goes and what/if long term sentencing will occur. I feel terrible for the victims and there are likely victims that don't even know they were recorded. Sad!

While this story has come out you also have the ice skating teacher who committed suicide due to being suspended because of allegations and then over by Terre Hauta, Indiana there is a basketball coach from AAU in jail for molesting multiple girls. There are incidents in swimming as well on top of everything that has gone on with Michigan State and gymnastics, Ohio State's wrestling doctor, or the Penn State football child molester.

Unfortunately this side fo the community exists with every children's sport. But like most groups, people want it swept aside and kept quiet as to not contaminate the sport.
When I was doing the Jobs thread, i had a google search set up for "volleyball coach news." Sad to say, but there was never a time when it didn't pull up stories of coaches being accused or arrested for illicit behavior.
A couple of years back I got slammed by a number of other posters, both publicly and via DM, for posting articles about coaches being arrested. These were not posts about heresy. They were links to newspaper articles, so the accusations where already out there. I never understood that.

The more publicized this issue is and the more embarrassed we all are, the swifter action we will take against the offenders. This is a good thing. Those people attacking you will turn their anger on the enablers and the predators ensuring a 30 year Rick Butler situation never happens again. I am glad you post them.
