This is hilarious coming from someone who backs sports performance. You didn't actually give me an answer but yeah, I'll bite...by your logic & accusations in addition to factual events: perhaps it must be effective. How many Natty's came home with SP in 2018? I'll wait while you gather up extra fingers and toes to count. Pissing contest much? (Actually, seems ALL spribots/GLPL supporters JUST pee, here!)

You are just extremely negative.

Do punishments actually even work? Like making kids do running exercises or stairs if they don't do their best, is that even effective? This is hilarious coming from someone who backs sports performance. Explain why you think this is so hilarious.

Do punishments actually even work? Like making kids do running exercises or stairs if they don't do their best, is that even effective? I would think that positively upbuilding teammates would be ideal. In my daughter's last year, 17's, of volleyball she ended up with what I will nicely describe as a petty person as a coach. This coach would undermine the girls, specific players, very frequently. NO ONE played their best all season. They all hated her and would unite on occasion as a team because they disliked her so much, but that mutual dislike of her was not enough to keep them strong. Coaches like that should not be allowed to coach, they undermine the entire point of being a team. I found it to be a completely ineffective way of keeping a team dynamic. It literally killed my kids love for the game. She (coach)was a fan of doling out punishments. I don't think it ever occurred to her to be pleasant, think of her team as the best and that they would try to rise to the occasion. A real shame. I hear ya. This is actually either (a) a very lazy coaching style or (b) a coach who doesn’t know what to do so ok y’all run. Smh. Should be someone’s assistant (maybe) to learn. We see this far too often in HS, Club and even at college level. I know of a specific DII here in SC. Very sad for the athletes who associate the sport they once loved, now with misery.

Thank you because I agree with your synopsis. My daughter did not personally experience it at spri, we did hear stories however she really experienced it at another club. Her 17’s coach (another club for Dirt) made her HATE the game and it is only know, like 8 months after the fact, that she is expressing love for the game itself again. It’s said that it affected her so negatively in a pivotal year for playing in college.

Like literally go out and enjoy the sun and Pacific Ocean breezes instead of blow harding in here all the time and obsessing about the volleyball scene literally 2k miles away. Like ignoring you still doesn’t make you go away. I need like a Dirt sized and shaped fly swatter and good aim. Jesus Mary and Joseph!

You come onto a thread, titled "consequences for losing, rewards for winning", and start a pissing contest Here, after solely doing so on RB-threads. 'Bye; 5) I care about our sport -- does NOT matter where I reside, now -- and learning about, and hoping for, this sadistic, serial rapist's downfall IS our, & my, business!

Been reading this forum for over 12 years and this never gets old. (On a side note, this has been so long ago that we now have a new generation coming up who have no idea what we are talking about 😂).

Congrats on derailing what could have been a productive conversation on punishments/rewards and their effectiveness into another Spri thread. Quoting my 2 day old post will surely get it back on track! I was simply stating how it was entertaining to me that someone saying punishment doesn't work loves the Sports Performance training program (absolutely nothing wrong with that, it obviously works) when they certainly use punishment as a motivator. Not sure why everyone blew it way out of proportion. I already stated my piece above that post on how I thought things should be to motivate the team.
