No. 1 UCLA beach volleyball (9-0) left Bear Down Beach with three sweeps over Arizona State, Washington and No. 11 California. The Bruins dropped just two sets on the weekend. "I was really happy with our performance (Saturday), I thought we played well – we played to our standard," said head coach Stein Metzger. "It’s hard, when you have a team that is this talented and has so much depth, to always play to a high standard and (Sunday) I thought we faltered. (...) In my mind, (Sunday) was a loss for us and a wake up call for our team to continue to improve themselves in practice and continue to get better." dailybruin.com/2019/03/03/beach-volleyball-sinks-sixth-ranked-opponent-sweeps-three-teams-to-stay-undefeatedSponcil and Justine – the reigning Pac-12 Pair of the Week – outscored their court two opponents 126-61 on the weekend. "There’s a chance of (Sponcil and Justine playing on court one) – they are playing exceptionally well," said Stein Metzger. "Last year they battled some inconsistency, but they really seem to be hitting their stride right now and I think they’ve completely bought into our style of play, which is playing fast and running play sets – and they can do it because they’ve become so proficient at hand setting."

Last year, somebody who had access to the emailed DiG poll pdf image posted screenshots on here and it was really nice. They take forever to update their website. It seems like this season their poll strikes closer to accurate than AVCA's. If anybody gets it every week and wouldn't mind sharing it for the rest of us, that would be great! Thank you!

DiG Magazine Poll, Week 2 Photo: @uhbeachvolley "The Florida Atlantic University beach volleyball team achieved its highest national ranking ever in this week's DiG Magazine poll. The Owls are ranked 11th in the poll, which was released Monday. The move to 11th is a five-spot improvement from last week's ranking, bolstered by FAU's win over then 10th-ranked South Carolina, who fell to 12th." - fausports.com

It seems like this season their poll strikes closer to accurate than AVCA's. If anybody gets it every week and wouldn't mind sharing it for the rest of us, that would be great! Thank you! I agree that DiG is generally more reflective of actual results. AVCA seems more about who looks good, was good last year, or "we won/lost to them so I vote them to stay ranked" syndrome. Thanks sandball for posting it!

#7 Cal Poly. One of the best beach volleyball teams in the nation doesn’t have their own courts. That may change soon mustangnews.net/one-of-the-best-beach-volleyball-teams-in-the-nation-doesnt-have-their-own-courts-that-may-change-soon"We want this to be one of the best facilities in the country. Our goal is to put a video board out there and really engage the students - have them come out and cheer on our student athletes. It’s kind of the last piece to put together to really put us over the edge and give us an advantage over other schools," said Deputy Athletics Director Nick Pettit. Cal Poly head coach Todd Rogers: "When a high school gal comes on campus and sees a really nice facility, the first thing [she’ll] think of is, ‘Wow, this school really supports this program'."
