"What an exciting weekend we had at Stanford, upsetting No. 7 Cal Poly! After losing to them two weeks ago by only 2 points we were hungry for revenge. We were able to clinch the dual in ~style~ with a back handed punch from Abby Waldburger that dropped right on the back line! (...) It was a very successful weekend for the Bears, which earned us our HIGHEST EVER RANKING in program history at No.10!! We FINALLY made our way into the top 10 teams in the country!!"

"Pac-12 Championship is always my favorite tournament of the year because of the competitiveness, excitement, and grind that comes with it. For most teams it is the last tournament of the season, so everyone really brings out their best play and battles to the very end," said Madison Dueck. "Last year we were stoked to leave with a third place finish, and we are aiming to leave LA with another top-three finish this year! We even convinced our wonderful athletic trainer, Scott Bohrer, to agree to dye his hair bright blue if we win it all (now it's officially in writing hehe)."
"There’s a couple switch-ups in (USC’s) partnerships (...)," said UCLA senior Carey. "We’re very excited to show our dominance and confidence on the court."
While I do appreciate everything the PAC-12 network does to continue to promote/show games for the past 4-5 years, todays day one of the championship was TOO long. 13 hours it was. They still need to figure out how to do this at schools with 3 courts. The last Dual.. Stanford/Oregon didnt even start till 11:30pm EST. I could tell it was all going to be stuffed up (time wise) after the first dual took over 2 hours. The only one I believe that was under 90min was UClA vs Oregon.
I do like what they did regarding first team to 3 wins & its over. That didnt work out too well. LOL. 1/2 the night I was saying, OK there are now two free courts send on another pair now please. That I think would have sped it up even a little bit.
Im also wondering why they had 7 games today, 7 tomorrow & only 2 on Saturday. 6 Thursday, 6 Friday & 4 on Saturday would have been just as good I think.
Theres another 7 games tomorrow, & if its a repeat of today or even worse all 5 pairs go 3 sets extra points, down to the final pair. it'll end 3am or so LOL!

Cost is clearly the factor. 2 Saturday games means only 3 schools are left. Everyone else can leave Thursday or Friday. Haha, and 2 of the schools will probably be USC and UCLA... though they may be staying at the hotel anyways.
20 people per team = probably 11-12 hotel rooms plus food so maybe $3000 savings.

It was LONG day, but loved watching the various teams. One thing I wish in the future is that when they show one court, please put the scores of the other courts that are playing in the corner of the screen. No idea what is going on otherwise. I think that is an easy fix.

100 percent. Besides not showing the scores, they hardly acknowledge there are other matches taking place unless the camera pans over. Odd.
I did enjoy how Holly and Ann Marie played off one another with Holly pointing out what was working and not working for players/duos and Ann Marie asking Holly “what would you do?” and then Holly suggesting, “serve player Y, player X is on fire or jump into the angle last minute”, etc.
It did go too long yesterday and USC offers only a tight packed area for fans. It was cool how USC set up “team sky boxes” in the parking garage above the courts that allowed for shaded, team viewing from above. Nice thing about USC venue is The Lab right across the street. You can grab a cold beer, a great burger, salad or fish tacos in less than 30 minutes! USC venue is an urban vibe for sure.
