As nice as Kiraly's house is, I bet it gets a lot of dust. You can't live by the beach and not have sand infiltrate every crack and crevice and corner of your house. You'll either grow to tolerate it or hate it. You'll never grow to love it. Enh. I live closer to the beach than Karch. It’s really not a problem for the house. OTOH, it can be a bit harsh on your cars. It can't be worse than having Karch kick sand in your face.

So, no one answered the ONE question that's on my mind. Did he have anyone on the USA NT over for a BBQ? Do you think he's the type of guy to have his old teammates from UCLA and the 1984/1988 USA NT over for BBQs? Like that Bob Ctvrtlik guy?

No, it looks nice. Only 1/4 of an acre though, and the price is on the high side for the neighborhood. From the photos, I think it looks kind of nice, too. 1/4 acre is more than I would ever need. An acre = 43,560 sq ft 1/4 acre = 10,890 sq ft My current property is not even 10,000 sq ft and I find it to be waaaay more than I'll ever need. Also, the bigger the property, the bigger the headache because the bigger the property, the more yard projects the wife will come up with. When I was growing up in NC, our house was on a 1/2 acre property. I don't want to mislead you into thinking it was a mansion. It wasn't. It was your typical rural NC house -- 3 bd, 2 bth, no covered garage (just a driveway), single-story. I hated mowing the lawn. It was every single weekend! 1/4 acre out front and a 1/4 acre out back. Hated it so much, it was the basis of my college application essays. Whenever you buy anything, you should always think about maintenance, as in "Is this something I can keep up?" and "How much will it cost me?" Seriously mowing a lawn, any sized, in NC during the humid sticky mid summer drudgery is worthy of a college essay. Especially if that essay focused on real life scenarios that propose that is what hell on earth would be like. .

Karch apologized for that. But its more like he pushed sand all over us as he was diving for the ball. Ah...good times...Spring Break '90 in Fort Myers, FL.

Next time I drive down to my son’s place in San Diego, I’ll have to stop by San Clemente and see what all the fuss is about. I’ll take photos and post them here.
