Is it possible that the AVP is no longer allowing a team to play both, as Reid/Jeremy did last year? Sponcil/Claes not listed for Austin, but they could presumably fly back in time if they lose the CQ. Maybe Emily/Betsi decided they were risking too much lost AVP prize money on one match against Kerri/Brooke. Kind of a bold move for Kelly/Sarah, who haven’t played together in four months. They would only have had to play one Quota match though right? They were gonna get the winner of the other two teams? Sarah & Kelly are a good team though. This will be a tough match for Kerri & Brooke in my opinion.

Yup..What is Day & Flint doing though? They are losing ground to either team that wins the CQ. Is it possible that the AVP is no longer allowing a team to play both, as Reid/Jeremy did last year? For Jinjiang, Flint/Day aren’t going because they lost the CQ match already. They’re losing out on possible FIVB points, but definitely not on the money part by doing AVP instead.

This will be a tough match for Kerri & Brooke in my opinion. They are. Kerri/Brooke really need to get out of the CQ and qualifiers. Playing twice as many single elimination games to tournaments, especially with a player like Brooke who can always be scored off, drastically increases the likelihood of upsets. If they have to play CQ and qualifiers in 3 events, I think the odds are they dont get in in at least one

My mistake. There are only going to be 14 teams in qualifiers.
Whoever makes it out of CQ should get a free pass to MD in the Q since both teams would be the second seeded team in Qualifiers because of Entry Points.

When this is the case, any teams in CQs should get into the qualifiers. Cant believe a 4 star cant fill their field

Now it’s showing a 16 team qualifiers with USA to be determined after CQ. 4 of the 16 teams in qualifiers are Brazilian.

I guess this means that Alison/Alvaro will also sneak into Qualification on the Men's side.
However, I agree with all of you that CQ for USA should be cancelled and both US teams should be allowed to play in Qualification.

But Brazil has somehow always managed to have this many teams when the tournament is in Brazil, even when the maximum is supposed to be 6?

2 Brazilian teams which are now in Q on Women's side have also been listed on Reserve until 2 hours ago. I guess that home teams are allowed to fill up open spots in Qualification. But apparantly this is only possible for home teams?
