Give Haak citizenship! Sweden and France are never gonna compete. If Haak naturalizes, it will be to a country with a strong domestic league where she can get a premium salary by playing as a local.

Hooker stated that she wants to be part of the NT again. Maybe she should formally talk to Karch and iron out the issue. Or ask someone from USAV to mediate. She is playing her best performance since 2010-2012 in Brazil and that can be very valuable to NT. This is her last chance and humbling herself in this situation is the only way. If Karch doesn't accept it then he is the real problem. Let's face it, Hooker is still the best US right side hitter. She is not Egonu but she sure can carry a team. I think hooker has also most likely matured a lot from 2012. She’s a mom now, and 7 years older.

Well larson, akinradewo, And dietzen atleast can’t blame hooker for their poor performance in the semifinal 2016 because hooker was not there. So the idea that hooker affects their performance is BS I was watching the other day and Foluke played pretty darn good against Serbia. Won the first set for USA with like 4 of the last 5 points.

Has Karch always hated Destinee hooker? I saw Destinee post a picture of them at dinner in Russia a long time ago all smiles. He even spoke so highly of her as an announcer in college.

Well according to ur post, apparently not!!! I would say he forsure has some hard feelings towards her. And I bet no matter what happens he won’t ever let her back in. It seems as though he never gave her a chance, he immediately dismissed her and Tom when he was head coach, I feel like he should’ve sat down with each of them individually and told them what was expected with no exceptions. And maybe he did, and maybe they both didn’t think they could meet his standards, who knows? I say put her in the next quad and if he still doesn’t think she “fits” don’t put her on the Tokyo roster.

Karch would rather commit seppuku then admit that he misplayed his handling of Hooker (the obvious negative effect it has had on his legacy) when he publically embarrassed her in front of her teammates by calling her out for having her husband and new born child come into the gym after practises that summer of 2013.
Those in the know know that this was a deliberate play by him as he judged Hooker correctly in understanding that she would respond as she did by angrily walking out of the gym and then making the most unfortunate decision of her life by tweeting "this is no longer my team" which Karch took at face value. If she had not posted that he would have been forced to let her back in the gym but make no mistake his plan all along was to break her to his will or force her off the team.
He just didn't have the self reflection required to realize that coaching genius, his self persception, does not lead to gold medals. The high point of his dual quad leadership was in 2014 and it's been all down hill since then with seemingly no end in sight and with the possible carryover of continued decline for another quad on someone else's watch.
Thanks Karch

Some of you are confusing "running a program" with "coaching a team." True, Karch does both, but they are two separate jobs. Now, say someone is creating a toxic environment in the program, and it is affecting Karch AND the team, and does not respond to efforts to fit into the program. Then you cut that person, like a cancerous growth, regardless of how good she is as an individual. This is a team sport. The individual submits herself to the program, also known as being a good teammate. This is what I suspect happened. If Hope Solo could make it four (potentially five) quads there’s no reason Hooker should’ve been permanently dismissed after one. . Literally posted about this a month ago. Hope Solo was dismissed over documented incidents (not vague, "team culture" issues) 3 times, and was invited back to train multiple times. Her behavior was usually public or directed at her teammates, and there was always a statement about why she was suspended. If what Destinee did 8+ years ago was so bad to warrant an 8+ year suspension, it is so messed up to say that since there is no concrete evidence, we should just believe Karch? Why the hell is the burden on Destinee to prove her innocence over unstated accusations? The fact that Karch now says she isn't invited to train because "she just doesn't fit" says to me that she didn't do anything that would warrant being shunned from USA volleyball for 8+ years. It's petty. I don't think that Destinee is "untouchable" - there are countless things she could have done to warrant a one to two year suspension, and a few things I think that would warrant an 8 year suspension. But none of those things should be masked in vagueness and "team chemistry issues." Release them, make them public, or give Destinee a second chance. BTW, I rewatch the 2012 London matches all the time. I don't see any chemistry issues between Destinee and her teammates. She cheers and hoops and hollers whenever anyone else gets a point, communicated well, and seemed to be very receptive to her coaches. If it was such a glaring/major issue, why didn't we see it? And don't even get me started on the Fawcett lie...

Regardless, it seems that we are at a point of no return for Destinee...

How could she have done something so bad that gets her permanently kicked off the team yet it was bad enough to break its way out of between those 2. As for on the court chemistry and stuff regarding that, with hooker and Tom, I never saw them angry or being dismissive of other players after mistakes. Maybe they were slightly but it couldn’t have been that huge of a problem of fans can’t see it. It would have to be very discreet and very minor. I want someone to confront Karch about this so bad, or an ex national team member to make an account and come on here to spill the tea. Wishful thinking ...

Larson struggles in big matches. 2012 London. 2014 world she didn’t play well except the last few points, and could not score in the semifinal against Serbia. So the idea that hooker affects their performance is BS Who is blaming Hooker for other players' poor performances? Additionally, no one is claiming "if Hooker was in Rio, we would have won." And I won't get into the 2012 London Gold Medal Match which Larson should have been subbed back into since she was so good for the rest of the tournament especially against Brazil in the opening rounds, or the 2016 Rio semis match in which she was the only steady thread throughout that game considering Foluke got injured and replaced by an injured Harmotto, and both Hill and Murphy had to be subbed out, BUT to say she didn't play well in the big matches in the 2014 WCH is to deny her of a team-leading 13 kills and .500 hitting percentage against Brazil in the semis. She was CLUTCH in that game. (Btw, I'm under no illusion that Larson doesn't struggle offensively sometimes, but Larson isn't on the court for the same reason as say, Zhu Ting, and it baffles me a little that after 10+ years of professional/international ball, posters haven't figured that out)
