I don't think so - if Nebraska dosn't win it all this year - they sure will next year - they are loaded everywhere and you guys in Lincoln will love watching Jordan Larson, she is a super stud.

Only team in this regional I haven't seen is Louisville. So I'm not sure how they will match up with Nebraska. But Nebraska doesn't take well to playing all-international casts. Maybe they'll take out their FAMU defeat on Louisville. ;D
USC is the team that can matchup a big block with Nebraska. Whoever rules the net will punch their tickets to the final four. I will take USC in this one, I like the tournament experience of their players, who know when to step it up. And they'll need to against Nebraska.

Based strictly on USC's history, I would go along with you but when you look at this year's stats, not one USC blocker is in the NCAA top stats and their team is not in the top 30 either. I would say this team is not up to past standards. OTOH, both Elmer and Stalls are in the top 15 with Elmer leading the nation and the team as a whole is also leading the nation. I have to give this particular battle to Nebraska in a sweep. However, I'm more concerned about Louisville at the moment. They are #2 in the nation in hitting percentage with one player hitting over .450 so it will take another great effort by Nebraska just to get to the opportunity to take on USC.

USC better not overlook San Diego in thinking about a matchup with Nebraska or making it to their 3rd straight final four otherwise they might end up with a much earlier exit from the tournament than they hope for this year.

I agree with this. San Diego can really bring it, and I have seen USC look downright awful when they are not ready or overlook a team (CAL and WSU).

I agree with you that Haley had better prepare the team for USD first. That team is very physical, and their hitters love to hit off at the net. They played USC in 1st round 2 years ago, and I was impressed with them even though April Ross & company took care of business in 3 game sweep. Both Haley and USC had better learnt from their "oversight" and underprepared losses to Cal and WSU.

I'd love nothing more than for USC to overlook USD and get taken out, but it's just not going to happen. Mick and Keao know how to deal with post-season. There will be no overlooking anyone. 6-7/6-5 vs 6-0/5-11... big/strong vs fast/sneaky. USD's biggest advantage is at setter, I just don't think it's anywhere close to being enough though. Hope Carlson has one of those matches like she did at WSU v USC a couple years back. I'm afraid Forster will struggle against the USC blockers. She doesn't bang off the block like Carlson, she hammers the ball down to the floor, whether it's on her side of the net or the opponents is the question. USCs OHs are going to work over Hurst/Sherburne on the rightside block. Hope Bernardin can keep digging them up to keep USD in some of those rallies.

I like San Diego a lot and I think they could certainly force USC to make mistakes and struggle. But they need to execute and stay away from USC's big block. If it becomes a factor, it will disrupt their offense and allow USC to overcome any trouble they are having on offense. It may go five but USC is definitely the favorite in this.

I wanna see what Pavan does when she motivated against the towers at USC... Me thinks she raises her game even higher and destroys the Women of Troy... I was also impressed with NU's defense. Jen S. is rock solid, shes nothing spectacular spiking wise, however she makes up for it with her all around game. I really hope we get a live internet feed for this match, it will be a WARRRRR...

DO not forget about Stanford. Barboza almost made the Olympic team as a 16 year old and alot of their ball club is returning.

The players are taking it one match at a time, Emily Adams and Co. are aware of the potential pitfalls, they suffered a couple of blowouts and a tough loss at WSU. This year they taking nothing for granted.
