And I'm sure defenses will adjust to Rettke somewhat, but there's no way she doesn't settle in as at least an effective attacker. Definitely. Rettke would be like, the fourth or fifth tallest player on the men's national team. Her vertical isn't great, but with her length, it doesn't have to be. She can barely hop and *contact* the ball at the top of the pin; she's just able to play higher longer. I think she'll be a really difficult player to make adjustment against.

Another Rettke-Poulter block. They make a great blocking combo, not just a hitting one.

Might be time for Thompson to be 3-and-done and go play a year in Italy. Look at what just a half season has done for Poulter. It's not like she might miss a chance at the Natty. The biggest needs for the USNT are OH, libero, and a settled setter. Hill rose up after just one season in Poland to star in 2014. Could Thompson do the same. Hope Karch plays her right through the rest of this tournament. We already know what Lowe and Drews bring to the table and currently it's not enough to go for Tokyo gold.

Poulter is setting well so far! Distributing the ball well.

Rettke getting touches on every Bulgarian attach on that 5 pt. run. A couple blocks as well, but the opposition couldn’t get a clear path to the floor.

I thought Drews showed remarkable improvement and confidence overall in the first and even second games.

Poulter is setting well so far! Distributing the ball well. She does "soft quicks" to any hitting position as good as anyone. The speed of this offense is very effective.

Imagine how good some of these players would be (rn and next year) if they were invested in a summer earlier... but I digress

So did Thompson not have any B1G offers? I know she was originally committed to Cuse, but even when she reopened her recruitment she ended up in the AAC?

I feel like Rettke is really good at getting a solid contact on the first ball after her own block touch. Seems to be very aware of where the ball is even off the block.
