Is the money for this European adventure coming out of your musical theater budget?

Take all the Sound of Music shots at the exact locations. Sound of Music tour tomorrow. I will,do my best to stand where Julie did. Those pics are beautiful ... I might have to take one of those Euro river or barge cruises.

Last day in Salzburg. We had “some” sunshine. At least no rain. We did a Segway tour in the morning which was a blast. I did biff it. Cobblestone streets hurt. I have done 4 segway tours. I highly recommend them.
In the afternoon we did our Sound of Music tour. Our guide was super annoying. Wanted to be our best friend. Just show us the sights, buddy, and quit telling us about your life. He was very impressed with my SofM knowledge. He wants me to come for the summer and work with him doing tours. Nah. It was a bike tour, which was fun. I got an electric bike because of my segway biff earlier.
Wolfgang, I did my best to recreate all the Julie Andrews poses. Not allowed to enter the gazebo, so my husband and I kissed in front, and I sang, “I am 63, going on 64.” He was thrilled.
I HIGHLY recommend Salzburg. It is breathtaking.
Took a train to Vienna tonight. Just one day here. I’m pretty sore, but Advil will hopefully let me walk out 18,000 step daily average. Was thinking of skipping Vienna and going to Italy to watch the National Team play, but Mary Lake hasn’t played much, so I’ll stick with the original plan.

Totally recreated this scene with our friends. I was Maria, of course. These gardens are soooo beautiful. Back of the house, where they all fell in the lake. We saw it from this angle.

Front of a different house they used for the scene when she arrives from the Abby. The Gazebo. It’s been moved because the owners of the house where it was were sick of tourists.

The wedding church. We actually saw this yesterday. It’s in one of the lake villages. I wanted to go kneel at the altar with my husband for a photo, but theeere was a funeral going on. Side note, Catholics know how to throw a funeral. After it was over, they marched the coffin through the town with a marching band. Inside Most of the opening scenes (best opening scene ever)were filmed in the lake region we visited yesterday. Just can’t even describe how beautiful it was.

During the Sound of Music tour, did they play music from The Sound of Music as background music?

During the Sound of Music tour, did they play music from The Sound of Music as background music? The guide had it playing on his phone, but we didn’t sing along. We might have if he hadn’t been so annoying.

Sometimes, I've heard folks are disappointed that the real thing does not live up to their expectations. In other cases, they are realistic. What is your opinion?
