My dog takes naps at the base of the very TV that I use for my gaming. He’s unfazed by the sounds of horrific screams, explosions, gunfire, and flesh-cutting in Dying Light, my zombie apocalypse game on the PS4.

I have two one dog s. Sadly, the older one is in the "checking each morning to see if he's still alive" stage of life. So far, so good. I think it's just a matter of time, but I've thought that for months. He doesn't seem to be suffering though, so we're just trying to care for him while his eyesight and mobility deteriorate.Unfortunately, today was the day. It obviously wasn't unexpected and it's for the better, but still a sad day. I'm so sorry. I still feel the sting of this for us from 6 years ago. A very sad day indeed.

I clipped my doggy's nails yesterday. These sessions are quite eventful because my doggy hates them. He growls at me and mouths my hands. (But he doesn't bite.) He's just letting me know, "could you just please f**k off?" But eventually, it gets done and he and I are both exhausted from the ordeal.

This is a question I have pondered although not discussed often given its...heavy nature. Given their relatively short life span compared to most humans, what do you do when your dog eventually pass away? I heard some never will get another dog, conversely, I heard some will immediately get another dog. I am not here to judge whether either choice is right or wrong. I just want to hear how do people deal with the loss.

But when it came to the death of my 13 y/o dog, I could not believe how overcome with grief I was. It really caught me off guard. Then one day I was driving near the animal shelter and turned my wheel that direction. I walked in without a plan and looked around. I walked down the last hallway and at the very end, she caught my eye. She looked just like my yellow lab at 3 mos, and I knew she was the one. Turned out she was a Carolina Dog, how apropos. I do not want to give any thought to the day Daisy will leave me.

Once you’ve had a German Shepherd, you won’t get any other breed.
