It will be more interesting after the pro season. Most of the US girls will play in Italy, I expect a big improvement on Foecke, Washington, and Alhassan.
Here is my current pick for Tokyo: OH: Bartsch, Hill, Krob, Larson - starters would be Krob and Hill MB: Aki, Chiaka, Dixon - I would put Dixon over Washington as of the moment purely for defense. Foluke is a more of an offense girl while Chiaka has more balance offense and blocking. S: Carlini/Poulter - Carlini is fast and has good throw for open hitters; Poulter for better connection with MBs. I like their contrasting strengths. OPP: Drews/Thompson - Both have ups and downs. I still think that this position is the weakest behind the libero position. L: Hentz - Since Courtney is not performing as expected, if I'm KK I will gamble on this since we have Krob as an immediate alternate.

With all due respect, I’m not sure if Karch has the willingness to invest in Hentz especially with such little time left. She would also have to make many adjustments in her movement, body control, etc. and we don’t know how she will pass. Tho I love seeing liberos who can dig like China and Italy. Unfortunately we may have to settle for Courtney. And as much as Karch loves to prioritize receive... she was having trouble receiving...

We better add Foecke, cuz we’re KR will end up playing libero. I called it.

Robinson was not as impressive as an Outside Hitter as many of you seem to think. She's libero or bust.

Everyone seems to forget that when a top team is dialed in, Robinson doesn't score.

Yes, but she is expected to be back by January or February if her contract in Fener is still on the table.

Robinson was not as impressive as an Outside Hitter as many of you seem to think. She's libero or bust. I thought she did great as an OH. BUT, I think we have enough very capable OH’s, and we don’t have a very good libero. IMO, that’s where she is needed.

She had a few solid kills, and she had a few lucky and timely kills, like a left handed tip on a all that crossed the net and was mis-played by the bulgarian player at the net. She makes an effort to fire up her team after good plays, and that has a tendency to get people caught up in her performance, but a lot of that is actually for show if you look at her numbers.

I think Robinson did quite well as an OH for the most part. At least relative to everyone else playing the position for USA. That may say more about the strength of the OH position, but she was as effective (and moreso) than basically everyone else. Whether that translates to success against the likes of a full strength China, Serbia, etc. of the world is a different question. I agree that I want her at libero. But to say that she wasn't doing a great job all summer at OH is just not true. I'd still rather have Hill there, though

You can also follow the match and see that she is very streaky. Larson is still much better out of system and more clutch, and Hill, although streaky herself, is much more effective against the best levels of competition.

If Michelle Bartsch-Hackley doesn't make it, it will be a travesty. I like Hancock and Poulter.
