Drop: CC McGraw, So., L, Minnesota Add: Carley Nicholson, So., L, Illinois State Hmm? Last year Nicholson had 1.68 dps to McGraw's 4.0 dps. They also lost legendary courtney pence ...

I’m surprised no one picked up Skylar Fields. She could have some big kill and block numbers as a freshman

I’m surprised no one picked up Skylar Fields. She could have some big kill and block numbers as a freshman 3 rotation RS only gets you so much even if they have good kills and blocks... she will be competing against 6 rotation OH, RS that will all have good kills, blocks + digs, and aces. She would have to be the top producer at both kills and blocks to be on a fantasy team with only two categories covered.

I’m new to keeping up with the fantasy thread and didn’t realize that OH and OPP were grouped together as pin hitters so that makes more sense! So she’ll be one to keep an eye on next season if she moves to being a 6 rotation OH.

DROP Jada Burse, SR, OH, Arizona State ADD Tori Dilfer, JR, S, Louisville
vbprisoner I'm guessing when you suggested I add a third setter for safety, you probably didn't mean a risky pick who may not start. Thank god grades are already out.
(I think Burse will play OPP for ASU as it sounds like freshman from Bosnia Iman Isanovic was the most impressive hitter on the team today in the scrimmage - by far, I'm told, from a club coach friend who was in attendance. I can't picture Mitrovic on the bench for ASU though, and I think Jeremic finds a way onto court no matter what. So this just got interesting. So with unexpected offensive help at ASU now, having both Burse and Mitrovic likely would be bad news for me.)

PRO TIP:
Since there are a few newbies in the league this year, the week of scrimmages is an important week. You should be checking your team websites for scrimmage write-ups to ensure that the athletes you drafted are filling the roles on their respective teams that you intended when you drafted them. Bad signs: teams running a 6-2 with your 5-1 setter, your L only DSing, your six-ro OH actually only playing three rotations, your MB sitting sets out because they're nursing an injury, etc. Also not a bad idea to follow their team accounts on Twitter and look for articles written about your drafted athletes. I just learned that Bruna is nursing some foot tendinitis -- that info obviously wasn't available from write-ups on the Illinois scrimmage.
Do your research and avoid surprises!
