Who are the idiots that voted for Nebraska and Penn State #1? Seriously, they should be blacklisted for the entire year. The only mild exception would be Hambly not voting for his own team, but even that just seems disingenuous. Butterfly ballot? Hanging chad?

Oergon has as much athleticism as anybody in the country But really really young this year. Lots of freshmen on the court at the same time. If they finish top 15 I’d be thrilled. 🦆 They are to be fun to watch.

Will be difficult for Stanford to lose this season. Only 3 or 4 teams can match up to possibly do it.

Obviously the Cardinals are a handful for anyone, though we should have beat them last December. Woulda, Coulda , Shoulda. Blah, blah blah... That said, honestly, I don't see Stanford winning in Lincoln in September. It'll be a great match, and I can't even imagine how much tickets will be going for by then! Unlike Stanford, we DO sell out our home matches... I'm guessing $300 for a good seat... What say you???

Tough for Nebraska to beat a veteran team like Stanford in September.

If Michigan runs a 5-1 where the middle trails the setter and their OH1 isn’t next to the setter (like they did last year), I want them automatically removed from the top 25. I don’t know if they did it because they wanted to use Skjodt in the back row when they only had two hitters in the front row, but it was cringe city nonetheless. Decisions like that usually have to do with serve receive. Not sure what they would gain from a middle follow rotation, however. Really messes up serve receive. I think it was to keep Paige Jones out of serve receive as well as always having a third hitter (Skjodt in back row) , but they changed the entire format of their lineup to achieve it.

My big questions are:
Who gave the first place vote to Penn State? I didn’t even have them in my top 10. Seems there are plenty of teams that are head and shoulders above them to begin the season.
What is with all the love for Washington St? They lost both their OHs that provided more than half their offense. I didn’t have them in my top 30.
How is it that Michigan was almost ranked higher than USC? Based on their caliber, I think if these 2 teams played at the beginning of the season, it would be an easy 3-0 sweep for USC.
Also, I’m surprised at some of the “receiving votes” teams- e.g Rice, Texas St. Might be a noob question but do the coaches provide a top 25 or a top 30?
Rant over

Will be difficult for Stanford to lose this season. Only 3 or 4 teams can match up to possibly do it. I think the timing of their schedule is what will get them. They will have an eleven day stretch with four brutal matches in September. If none of those teams beat them, we don’t even need to have an NCAA tournament because that will seal it for Stanford. I think they’ll beat Texas, lose @ Penn State, beat Minnesota @ PSU, then lose to Nebraska in Lincoln. A loss to Nebraska in September could likely be their last loss of the season. I picked PSU and Nebraska to beat Stanford not only because of possible matchups, timing and location, but also because Stanford ended both of their seasons last year and they might be a little upset about it.
