One of the questions should've been tailored so that the answer could've been "bread and butter." For some reason, it used to be one of my favorite conversation starters with various professionals. Here's an example: "What part of your business do you consider to be your bread-and-butter, that is, something that you do all the time and that is a significantly high percentage of your revenue?" For TV detectives -- and I imagine it's the same for real detectives (but don't know for sure) -- the bread-and-butter is surveillance of spouses to determine if they're involved in some sort of extramarital affair. This is usually a prelude to a divorce.
Guess what is the bread-and-butter for dentists?

1. A species that disappears from the fossil record for an extended period, only to return later, is known as a BLANK species. What Biblical character fills in that blank?
2. Lederhosen are traditional German pants made from what material?
3. What legendary comedic family includes such lesser-known siblings as Nadia, Elvira, Diedre, Vonnie, and Dwayne?
4. What country’s national anthem is called “Himno Istmeño,” or “Hymn of the Isthmus”?
5. Today [tomorrow?] is August 8. Happy 54th birthday to Jimmy Wales, the co-founder of what nonprofit, whose name contains the Hawaiian word for “quick”?

Teddy and FDR weren't. They were 5th cousins or something. Eleanor was Teddy's niece, so a cousin too.

For a long time, I kept hearing the song “Panama” (by Van Halen) in my head but refused to believe it was really called “Panama.” I assumed it was something that rhymed with “Panama.” And I also thought it was a David Lee Roth song from his solo career days, but it’s actually a Van Halen song (and David Lee Roth was the lead singer). This song has been a source of confusion for me for a long time.

I'm pretty sure "the great basin" is the area between the Rockies and the Sierra Nevada. So Nevada, Utah, California.
