1. What is the only state capital in the United States whose name begins with three consonants? Note: “St. Paul” doesn’t count.
2. When paleontologists first discovered woolly mammoth remains in Europe, they thought they may have been African elephants brought to the continent by what Carthaginian?
3. What tourist destination, the most popular in Seattle, is sometimes referred to as the market where they throw the fish?
4. What six-letter word was coined in 1937 by a British literature professor, who claimed it was Old English for “hole builder”?
5. A complete solar eclipse can only take place when the moon is in what phase, which is also the name of the best-selling book of 2009?

Seriously? People are having problems with #4? It's obviously "hobbit".
#5 is "new moon" (If you just think about a solar eclipse, the sun must be shining on the far side of the moon for the moon to be able to cast a shadow on the earth. When the sun shines on the far side, the near side is dark. That's what we call a "new moon".)

Not Kathleen Turner. She built this city. Correct. We would've also accepted "Grace Slick."

Quickie Quiz: Who's this old guy? (Very famous in the 1980s. Still gets around but not as much because, you know, he's old.)

Looks more like Jerry Van Dyke, but yes, it's Michael Dukakis. Didn't realize he was still alive.
