Stanford outhit the Longhorns .333 to .205. Ogonna finished the 3 games with 28-5-56 for .411. Topic was 17-7-47 and .213. Howden, meanwhile, was 18-5-29 for .448.

With a lot of help from Kristin Richards who had 14 kills, no errors in 31 attempts. Her line shot was money all night, and her floor D per usual was solid ...

With a lot of help from Kristin Richards who had 14 kills, no errors in 31 attempts. I think the 0 errors was really, really huge for her. She has a tendency to get blocked a bit, but lately (knocked on wood), she has just played really good, consistent volleyball.

Congrats on fellow Pac-10 team for advancing into Elite Eight. So far 2 for 2 for Pac-10 tonight. Hoepfully, UW and UCLA will make it 4 for 4 for Pac-10.

That would be so sweet after the NCAA supposedly gave the Pac-10 such low seedings because they were "off" this year. The powerhouse Big 12, with only 2 in the sweet 16, now can do no better than one in the elite 8. USC v. Nebraska (I assume) really should be a final-4 match-up.

I totally agree with you. I think I heard KZSU saying Richards is now only 4 digs short of a SU single-season record. It's not surprising but still amazing how Dunning et al get the Cardinal on an up-curve in the second half of the season and, as their mantra goes, keep improving a little bit over the preceding match.

Greeting y'all from Thailand. After being absent for almost a year, all I can say that I have been following in the background here on this side of the world.
Wow!!! I am totally happy that Stanford won. It was as I thought would be ... a sweep. Ogonna was just awesome. When the US team came to play the Cuban team in July here in Bangkok, I met Ogonna and said hi. She remembered me during the Stanford day. She was such a great person.
Bring it on either Hawaii or Wisconsin.

Nobody claimed the Big 12 was powerhouse and better than the Pac10 this year. Many recognize that Texas's #6 seed was a gift to create hosting alignments to keep conf foes meeting earlier than Reg Finals. Mizzou's seed was exactly the same thing if not even more rediculous. Big12 was deeper than the Pac10 this year with 7 teams being highly competitive vs 6. That's about it. Big10 is arguably better than the Pac10 but that's another topic.

TEXAS QUOTES
Head Coach Jerritt Elliott “Well, I’m really proud of my team. They fought really hard they had a tremendous season. We had a huge turnaround with only two seniors and a freshmen and sophomores. I thought it was a valuable experience to advance this far. Ball control wise, offensively, I really liked our rhythm, But we weren’t big enough in the rally scoring game to contain Ogonna and Kristen. Those two played exceptionally and Ogonna showed why she is player of the year.”
I concur.
