I'd beg to differ. Plus, there have been quite a few in recent memory that could smack the pipe.
This isn't high school gym class anymore, Bob. Girls are becoming MUCH more athletic than they were back in the days of one-pieces (for men) when you were in high school. [/quote]
People who can hit pipes:
Reid Priddy - USA Men Kevin Barnett - USA Men Aaron Wilton (A BiK favorite) - 1996 Andy Witt - 1997 Victor Rivera - 1998 Andrea Giani (DA MAN!) - whenever he wants to Pat Powers (da guy who started da backrow craze, with Timmons of course) - most of the 80's
See any women in there? Nope, not gonna either.
BTW, men never played in one-pieces, you numbnut. Bball tanktops and short-shorts maybe.
Just cause a girl hits a pipe set you can't dig, doesn't mean it was coming that hard.

Okay, okay. I'll put one female on the "can smack da pipe" list. Caren Kemner. But she was a one-in-bazillagazillion. Major props to her, she hit a heavy ball.
But that's about it.

Ogonna is well on her way - did you listen to the match today? Logan also hits a pretty mean pipe. Willoughby wasn't too shabby either. However, I agree with you that it isn't as effective (or as prevalent) in the women's game as it is in the men's game.

You don't think Ogonna Nnamani can hit the pipe? I've seen her take some backrow hits that just dent the other side of the floor.
