Oh, thanks. That’s good to know, cos’ that title is just silly! I don't know what the title will be, I just hope it will be better than the direct translation we got so far. Speaking of Asian films and TV series, they do seem to have the most volleyball-themed movies and shows. In Thailand you have the "Iron Ladies", about a group of gay men playing volleyball and fighting prejudice at the same time: In Japan, you have anime and live-action drama of volleyball related series: Of course, the most famous is the classic anime "Attack No.1": They even had a modern retelling of the story with live-action drama starring Japanese actress Ueto Aya: It seems so, from that list I only watched Haikyuu, and I love it. I’m actually a big fan of animes and Japanese animated movies, Miyazaki is one of my all-time favorite directors, “Spirited Away” and pretty much all his filmography is among my favorite films.

Now if he can only do a volleyball-themed anime...

I’ve read Miyazaki is on to do one last film (he came out of retirement, again) but with Hayao you just never really know.

Can I just give a shoutout to Haikyuu's AMAZING soundtrack?!?! I agree, it’s great. Now I feel like watching Haikyuu again. I wish there were more volleyball animes like Haikyuu... Btw, I found a video of how Japan holds intense conditioning session with their liberos and I compared that to the training scenes in the trailer, there is a certain similarity between the two in how the coach just rain balls on you and you just have to receive it no matter what. I've seen this drill practiced in person, although seldom to this intense level in the US, but if you want to be a pro...

I saw that clip a couple years ago and was not completely surprised, I mean Japan thrives on their floor defense so I wasn’t really shocked. Lol

Lol Well, I guess that is why Japan is renowned for their reception ability. Although their lack of tall players is hindering their attack, the stronger and taller teams don't find it so hard to block them.

Can I just give a shoutout to Haikyuu's AMAZING soundtrack?!?! Animes can indeed have great score. I love composer Joe Hisaishi's works in his collaboration with Miyazaki. Also, someone just sent me a clip of Jackie Chan on the film set of the Lang Pang movie. So Chan will also star in the film?! In what role I wonder. Or maybe it was simply a set visit?

I think it said somewhere that he was co-directing the film. Jaque Carvalho, Paula Pequeno, and Mari Steinbrecher were part of the film as well while others filled the remaining Brazi NT roles. https://www.instagram.com/p/B3VkKCugTTd

Hoping it all turns out well. That's a lot of star power, both in Chinese film and volleyball. At least the NT cameos might help make the action scenes more authentic. This effort shows how important Lang Ping is to China. Looked if Hisaishi's discography. It's OP. The only thing that's been ruined for me is that Laputa is a reference to Gulliver's Travels, and that author made Laputa as a joke so that he could get away with saying "whore" (la puta). That's not entirely correct, but it is a pun (kind of?) and I can't ignore it anymore.

Is Jet Li going to show up next? Or Chow Yun Fat? Of course, it doesn't guarantee the movie will be good. But at least it shows how serious the producers are in investing in the movie to make it feel realistic and epic.

So did Miyazaki, although he only discovered it after the film was complete. It doesn't affect the film for me honestly, "Castle in the Sky" is still one of my favorite anime with a great score.

I just read "Laputa" differently in my head now (la puta instead of lap-yoo-ta). Oddly enough the film made me hungry. Miyazaki's foodie side came through in a few scenes. Unfortunately, I lost my copies of Castle in the Sky and Nausicaa :/ Might've misplaced Kiki's as well.

Not that Disney movies are bad, some are indeed great, but they can have a certain formula that I find constraining. Not so with Studio Ghibli. They can produce profound works that really make you think and reflect, I recommend "Tale of the Princess Kaguya", not directed by Miyazaki, but it is drawn in a beautiful and haunting style: It also features music from Joe too. As for the Lang Pang biopic, please don't let the censors control the movie, if they force the director to have the characters recite lines like "I am proud to serve for the glory of the Chinese Communist Party", that is just gonna ruin the film.
