Looks like Lourdes isn’t #3 either! MoBap takes care of business in that match up. Should be interesting come post season

I have seen them play in person and I would concur with this assessment. Ibrahimovic, in particular, makes them superior to most teams. I feel he could be starting at OH for some D1 teams. They are still a little young and there are some emotionally volatile personalities on the team. I worry perhaps they might not react well if and when they really get pushed. I hope not. As a west-coaster, I think they are the best chance for the national championship to stay in the region this year. I can't wait to see how they stack up against BenU-Mesa, for instance, to confirm that belief. This month will be the first time they are probably tested by NAIA programs. Ottawa tomorrow, BenU-Mesa and Vanguard later in the month. I think they are better than all three of those, but like you mentioned, the emotion sometimes can hurt them as much as it helps them. Either way, I don’t see them losing a match the rest of the regular season. I am curious how this Ben-U Vanguard match goes tonight. That may show us who actually could give Menlo a run. Well, Ben-U showed why they are the defending national champions last night. Vanguard easily won sets 1 and 2. Ben-U made some adjustments starting in set 3 and ended up winning the match in a reverse sweep, 19-25, 16-25, 25-23,29-27,15-12. Very intense and exciting match.

There were some good matchups this weekend as a whole, but most of them ended in sweeps. The Benedictine/Vanguard match ended up being the best match of the weekend. Vanguard had their way with Benedictine in the first two sets, then Coach Lewis made some adjustments and Ben-U ends up reverse sweeping. Landon Fuller for Ben-U and Kyle Anema for Vanguard are going to be very good for those teams in the future.
Surprised to see Ottawa drop two, specifically to Mount Mercy.
And after watching Lourdes handle St. Xavier, Mo Bap comes through and sweeps them. Cajic was really good in that matchup with Lourdes. Mo Bap look like they are finding a groove right now, just in time for a matchup with Park in a couple of days.
Jury is still out on Menlo. They swept a decent Ottawa-AZ team, but no one really will test them for another two weeks.

Park with a pretty decisive sweep of MoBap at home tonight.
Goshen (!) on the road with a 5 set upset of Lourdes.

Thinking the following about the rankings to be released tomorrow morning:
Park should be no lower than #3 after sweeping Missouri Baptist. Lourdes should drop below still-undefeated Menlo after losing to Goshen. Ottawa (Kan.) should be replaced by either Cardinal Stritch or Vanguard in the top 10, after OU lost to both Missouri Valley and Mount Mercy.
We'll see. Also looking forward to seeing the result of tonight's match between St. Xavier and Cardinal Stritch!

Here are how the top teams fared since the last poll:
#1 Campbellsville: 15-2 - lost two matches to Belmont Abbey and Limestone. They may flip with Grand View, but that will probably happen all season depending on the week.
#2 Grand View: 12-1 - No losses, should jump to #1. I think they are the best team with the no doubt best player in the country. The team to beat the rest of the season.
#3 Missouri Baptist: 16-3 - Lost to Park, defeated Lourdes, Aquinas, and St. Xavier. I think they stay where they are after this week.
#4 Lourdes: 11-2 - Losses to Mo Bap and Goshen (!). Then went and defeated Aquinas. Probably drop a bit.
#5 Menlo: 12-0 - No significant wins yet, but a big test against Benedictine this weekend. No movement here.
#6 Park: 8-0 – Takes care of business against Mo Bap. They looked strong and should move up. I think they jump to #3. It was a convincing win against a strong opponent.
#7 Saint Xavier: 8-3 - Losses vs Lourdes, D3 MSOE (top 15 program) and Mo Bap. I think they stay where they are right now. No real bad losses (unless you think MSOE is bad).
#8 Benedictine: 9-6 - No losses, and a great comeback to defeat Vanguard. Their record is not indicative of the quality of team. A lot of young talent that can be really good if they stay consistent.
#9 Aquinas: 11-5 - Lost to Mo Bap and Lourdes. They haven’t lost to anyone they shouldn’t have this season, but they are good enough to challenge the top teams. Still probably at #9.
#10 Ottawa (KS): 5-3 - Lost to Missouri Valley and Mount Mercy. Will likely fall out of the top 10 with no quality wins to show this season.
RV Cardinal Stritch: 7-1 - Have only played one tough opponent (Grand View), so jury is still out on them. Matchup against St. Xavier will be a good indication of the quality of this team.
RV Vanguard: 6-3 - Losses vs Benedictine and UC San Diego. First year program that has shown well so far. Great talent at the top, but not much depth from what I have seen.
RV Briar Cliff: 7-3 - Lost to Missouri Valley. May not receive votes in the next poll.
RV Missouri Valley: 11-7 - Lost to Grand View and Park. Defeated Ottawa. Will likely receive more votes in the next poll, but still outside of the top 10.
RV Ottawa (AZ): 8-3 - Lost to Menlo. Defeated Hope International. Still the fourth best team in the conference, and will likely stay where they are in the received votes category.

All that to say this is how I think the NAIA will see it: #1 Grand View #2 Campbellsville #3 Park #4 Missouri Baptist #5 Menlo #6 Lourdes #7 Benedictine #8 St. Xavier #9 Aquinas #10 Cardinal Stritch Great analysis! One note: Campbellsville beat Reinhardt 3-0 (see both teams' web sites), and the result was recorded incorrectly in DakStats for some reason. So, with that, I imagine Campbellsville stays at #1.

Cardinal Stritch takes out St. Xavier 3-1, that team is no joke. A lot of offensive firepower, was a fun match to watch. Saint Xavier seemed overwhelmed tonight, couldn’t really find a favorable matchup anywhere on the court. Interested to see how the rankings flip tomorrow.

Cardinal Stritch looked good against St. Xavier last night. They really do have some nice pieces and are big at the net, showing that with 17 blocks in their match. They should not lose another match this season and will likely represent the CCAC in the national tournament, where they could pose some problems.
