Just heard Mo Bap is done! Argh! 🙁 heard they were all done. Sad but apparently true! AMC made their decision early but all conferences were left with similar choice. Cancelled, not postponed, so apparently no chance to fix it later. Really sad for Spartan seniors - no opportunity to broadcast their night of recognition. 😢

Hearing that the NAIA will likely be ending everything tomorrow. The right decision in light of everything going on. Hoping that they make the same decision as the NCAA regarding an extra year for seniors, if they choose to return.

Stop for 3 weeks, get out of shape and then play is a recipe for injuries. I really hope they get another year. So far, my son's college career has had a lot of ups and downs, and I think he deserves another year.

A quote from the NAIA, "In an effort to provide relief, no spring sport student-athlete will be charged a season of competition. Any spring sport student-athlete who was enrolled full-time in 2020 will be awarded two additional semester terms of attendance or the equivalent."

He is very excited!!! Now, if his brother goes to his school, it would be a dream come true.

The 2021 season is going to look much different, with potentially two new conferences, with the Cal Pac set to add the sport if Park-AZ and Westcliff are accepted to the NAIA. Also, Park is set to join the Heart of America Conference beginning in 2020-21, which leaves Missouri Baptist on the outside. I do think the Heart of America adds Mo Bap as an affiliate member though. This is what the NAIA will look like in 2021: Cal Pac: Benedictine UC Merced Park (AZ) (Pending NAIA acceptance) Pacific Union Saint Katherine Simpson Westcliff (Pending NAIA acceptance) Chicagoland: Cardinal Stritch Judson Robert Morris St. Xavier St. Ambrose Trinity Christian Viterbo GPAC: Briar Cliff Dordt Hastings Jamestown Morningside Ottawa (KS) GSAC: Arizona Christian Hope International The Master’s Menlo Ottawa (AZ) Vanguard Heart of America: Clarke Culver Stockton Graceland Grand View Missouri Valley Mount Mercy Park (Mo.) William Penn Mid-South: Bluefield Campbellsville Cumberland Life Midway Reinhardt St. Andrews Thomas More Warner Webber International WHAC: Aquinas Goshen Indiana Tech Lawrence Tech Lourdes Siena Heights Independents (unless one becomes affiliate member somewhere): Missouri Baptist Lincoln St. Louis Pharmacy Not sure if I missed anyone, but the championship field will have to expand to at least 10 after this season, you would hope. In 2021 there would be 6 automatic bids, plus the host bid, allowing for one at-large selection under the current format. (The Cal Pac would not have a bid until Park and Westcliff get through their probation year). The CalPac Conference made this announcement earlier this week: www.calpacathletics.com/article/3636Park-Gilbert and Westcliff are now official NAIA institutions. As to the question of the conference having to wait a year for the two schools to finish a probation year, the announcement included the following statement: "The addition of Park-Gilbert and Westcliff will make Cal Pac men's volleyball a championship sport with an automatic qualifier to the national tournament..."

In a quirk related to a couple CalPac schools competing in the GSAC up through the 2020 season, a few players had the honor of being named to all-conference teams in 2 separate conferences. Unfortunately I don't think the Cal-Pac has their information correct. The NAIA does not allow first year members to be eligible for postseason play, and are not counted towards qualification plans for the conference membership. Assuming they received an exception to the rule though if they announced it in their press release. They are an odd conference as a whole though, so you never know.
EDIT: I may be wrong here. It looks like there may be a small bylaw that allows them to get an AQ, regardless of postseason eligibility.
