#19 Stanford is swept by #3 LSU. The Stanford 1, 2, and 3 teams each won a set. Hawaii up in half an hour.

#5 Hawaii gets the perfect 5x(2-0) sweep over the Cardinal.

Tough day for Stanford in Hawaii. Looks like Cal / Stanford match in the future should be competitive.

UCLA sweeps Stanford, with the Stanford 2s (Ashkinos/Kriz) getting one set. Not unexpected when you go up against three top-5 teams. But I had hoped they might win one match. I wonder if there will be any more experimentation with the line-ups tomorrow? (Chelsea Red-Horse Mohl replaced Jordan McKinney on the 5s for the last match.) Ekstrom/Villapando seem like the obvious #1 for Stanford.
I'm guessing it will be Stanford vs. UCLA again in one semi-final tomorrow.*
I think next weekend at home, Stanford vs SMC(RV) and ASU(#20) will tell us more. They don't play Cal until April.
*Stanford vs. UCLA 2pm PST Sunday.

UCLA blanks Stanford again. Looking for a "moral victory", Stanford's #1 Ekstrom/Villapando actually outscored their opponents 54-49, but lost, 1-2 in sets.
Stanford also tweaked their line-up, swapping Sharp and Dailey at 3s and 4s.

Stanford's #1 Ekstrom/Villapando actually outscored their opponents 54-49 that's not trivial.

And the weekend sweep is complete, as the Cardinal fall 0-5 to Hawaii again.
Looking for better results next weekend.

Just got the latest of Dig Magazine (#1, 2020). Reading the paragraph about (their #18) Stanford, there are at least two mistakes. (1) It refers to "Winslow Church (5-6, Fr)" as one of their "Key returnees". How can a freshman be a returnee? (2) It says Charlie Ekstrom earned "all-Pac-12 honors both indoors and on the beach". That is quite an accomplishment, considering she did not play indoors.
Maybe they need a copy editor and a fact-checker.

Whew! Stanford beat SMC (4-1) and ASU (4-1) in their first home meets. That should keep them in the top-20 (assuming they take care of Utah tomorrow). I'm assuming they will fall to Hawaii again.

Any way to watch today's Livestream at Stanford? Someone is filming....

Stanford doesn't streams their BVB, AFAIK. (Maybe if it's on Pac-12 Network.) They don't even supply live stats, just updates on twitter. What I saw yesterday was various parents recording. I suppose the staff may be, too, for coaching purposes.

Stanford sweeps Utah and finally takes a point from Hawaii, losing 1-4. Stanford 2s won in three sets, Stanford 1s list in three.
I expect this will keep Stanford in the top-20; maybe even move up a place or two.

I'm curious why more schools do not stream games. Look at LSU - they had a live YouTube feed for each court, and you can toggle between courts. There must be some liability issue, or their agreement with Pac12 Network does not allow them to stream? It looks like Pac12 Network is only broadcasting beach volleyball for a month. Which, actually saves me money because I only have to get fuboTV or something for a month.
