Do you know when this person agreed? Unless it's an internal hire, it would be a PR nightmare to announce a new HC hire right now while budgets are being cuts. Doesn't mean they won't do it, I just don't think it's a good idea. (This is assuming that the season gets canceled eventually. Obviously if they are actually going to play in the fall, they'll probably need a coach )Not an internal hire. Not sure when the announcement will be, but the position has been accepted. I mean, unless they are canceling the program they need a Head Coach. That isn't exactly optional even with budget cuts of other staff/assistants. If they were saying they hired a new WVB Coach for 1.2 Million Dollars, yea that'd be inappropriate.

I imagine they, along with other jucos, could theoretically wait and do a somewhat extended search right? Their season isn't until spring; obviously be nice to have a coach in place to train in the fall, but just sayin.

Won’t be much of a team as I’m sure the former HC will take top players with him to Chicago State

Merrimack has hired a women's basketball coach but still doesn't show a women's volleyball coach or even an assistant on the website. The NEC has delayed but not canceled the season yet.

Canisius has their new coach. So, someone agreed to it, knowing what they were up against. Do you know when this person agreed? Merrimack has hired a women's basketball coach but still doesn't show a women's volleyball coach or even an assistant on the website. The NEC has delayed but not canceled the season yet. In looking at the D1 manual and the volleyball rulebook, there is regular mention of a head coach's duties and rules for what they can do/not do. There are all kinds of requirements for what you need to do to have a program, but no actual rule stating that you must have a head coach!

OK....most of the long term postings have all announced hires - S Carolina St, Chicago St, Canisius.
Only the more recent JuCo posting remain open -- Otero, Seward
I think the only long term opening that reamins, I think, is Merrimack (DI).
Anyone have any ideas? Anyone? Bueller....

Penn College (DIII) apparently never hired, not that they have to worry with the NEAC Conference canceling (not suspending) fall sports.

It wouldn't surprise me if the smaller schools with PT Head Coach positions open held off on hiring for this year. I know extremely short sighted, but they are saving money, and it's not like there's a bunch of HS and club ball to watch at the moment. The ADs ledger looks good without the expense of a coach "not doing anything".
