I was thinking this was all sorta a "shotgun" approach to following. But she is the new recruiting coordinator. And she's been told by JE what we need to be on the lookout for. So this is the standard "hey, how's it going" introduction to each other.
In football, all these transfers were "for sure" going to end up at Texas. Now the story coming out is "Texas has cooled on them....."
It's just that previous years, under previous recruiting coordinators, once we said "Howdy" on social media that was a sign it was "in the bag".

Agree. It’s best to make some initial contact and show some level of interest early on, even if its just in case you want to make a push later. What if one of our out of state players decided to transfer unexpectedly to be closer to home? It would be much easier to push harder for a recruit you’ve already contacted than to suddenly try to jump in late and begin reaching out after players have already built relationships with other schools. Covering your bases is the way to go.
