Look right? Yes, guessing on scholarships.
No way Iosia is a walk-on. You might be right, but then where does the walkon count go? Whenever I bring up the math, it's just [crickets].*
I didn't include O'Brien because I scanned the UT student directory and couldn't find her full name listed (surprisingly, there are not a lot of O'Briens in a school of 50,000+)
*Added: And when I ask again about the scholarship numbers, the talk goes into partial scholarships. And then a flareup about full headcount scholarships (which volleyball is) erupts. And then people, who can't arrive at the number 12, then start saying, "well, maybe she gets paid in the Spring" and then alot of back and forth on that. And then they say, "Well, she must be getting an academic scholarship". Well maybe, but then who is the walkon starter getting an academic scholarship? Count to 12 folks.

yeah, I don't think Iosia nor Halter are walk-ons. Any Libero/DS who verbally commits like 2 years before NSD is doing so to secure their 4-year scholarship early. Exactly

I’m not too impressed with Halters reception skills to give her a 4 year scholarship I think her serve receive is pretty good, but of course there is always room for improvement and she still has a little over two years before she arrives at Texas. That being said, I think her reflexes on defense are very good and will only get better.

FWIW - Sylar Fields commented on one of her Instagram posts and said - see you soon. And she replied she can't wait. Two hours ago she posted on her insta story that she was currently in Texas and 5 hours away from Austin.

She needs to get more comfortable taking balls outside her body so she can adjusts when the ball floats late. But she has plenty of time.

You do a great job putting together that grid. Don't worry about trying to be so precise about who is not on scholarship; none of us here know for sure. We can all make assumptions, and debate it (which is fun), but none here should expect you to be 100% accurate. So, probably better to not even include that footnote, IMO. Or, perhaps modify to state "rumored walk-on" (which would mostly likely be the case for Heinrich, but not sure who else).

So, did we ever find out who we even offered for 2021? With one open 'ship, I always thought it was Kami Miner. Had also suspected that perhaps the two metroplex recruits who ended up choosing Kentucky and Florida were offer recipients who decided to leave the state of Texas for college. I don't think the offer list was greater than five with only one available 'ship.

I found Morgan (or who I think is Morgan) in the directory in early June; and, found her again today.

6'2 MB Amaya Thomas out of Orlando, FL could be another target for 2022. Looks like she can hit the ball from all across the front row.

Yeah, that's not her. I saw that one in my search earlier, but discounted it because: 1) RTF (Radio Television Film) 2) PhD
Yeah, she graduated Illinois in 3 years, but I don't think she's going straight into a PhD program.

I thought it was confirmed that Morgan was in Austin this summer (and attending first summer session classes). Was she not living in Austin in June despite the Instagram photos of her in Austin, and her city listed as Austin, TX?
The chances of there being two "Morgan O'Brien's" at Texas in grad school at the same time are extremely remote, IMO.

Outstanding sleuthing skills coach. I'm an IG dweeb (I only use it to follow Australian Cattle Dogs) and don't (correctly) see the references about living in Austin that others seem to be able to find.
Woof!
