I’m not sure about Stanford but Taylor Harvey will be behind Bekka Allick, Andi Jackson, Maggie Mendelson, and Ames for middle blocker position. At Texas with us having no middle blocker commits for the 2024 or 2025 class, she will only be behind Singletary and Bunton. I think the chance she comes to Texas is high. I’m not sure about Wisconsin or Stanford though.

I’m not sure about Wisconsin or Stanford though. That's how the projected roster at MB looks now. I doubt both Mendelson and Ames wait around an additional 2 seasons until Allick graduates. Most likely Mendelson moves on or focuses on hoops; Ames is third string in 2024. If Harvey just loves Nebraska or believes she can win a starting MB spot as a true freshman in 2025, then her going there is plausible; she could also have thoughts of redshirting her first season. That Nebraska NIL could be very influential . . . |

I’m not sure about Wisconsin or Stanford though. There is a cleared path at Texas, no doubt. But athletes of this caliber have confidence in their ability and don’t fear competition. Transfers in at Texas could happen, transfers out at Nebraska. We’re a long ways from hitting campus. Depth charts aren’t as important as they used to be. Still believe Stanford is in the drivers seat with Texas 2 and Nebraska 3. |

I'm asking about prior to her public verbal commitment earlier today. Both Hunt and Elliott gave hints prior to Krueger and Vander Wal publicly committing in the summer. |

Getting an MB for the 2025 class would be great; but, if we hit on a transfer MB or two who have already proven their talents at the collegiate level, I won't sweat Harvey going elsewhere. We need immediate MB help for the 20254 season more than any high school 2025 MB recruit.

I’m not sure about Wisconsin or Stanford though. Stanford is pretty desperate for middle blockers for 2025. Plus her sister is there. Plus it’s Stanford. Nebraska’s big advantage is that she was there for Volleyball Day. Not to discount Nebraska’s other advantages, but it’s hard to match that environment. But Texas has plenty of things to sell. One thing I really like is that volleyball took a page from football recruiting and has successfully brought both Spears and Harvey in for multiple visits. If a player commits right when they’re able to that’s not possible, but if a recruitment lasts a bit bringing them in multiple times starts paying dividends. Also, they were able to give each of them the red carpet treatment separately. I also like that they brought them in for football games. Not that that’s going to be a big selling point for all recruits, but Texas does have home games set up as a truly epic event these days. Not just the game, but Austin Longhorn Limits. There’s simply not a better college town in the country at this point. Like every oldie, I can’t help but think Austin was better back in the day, but there’s no question in many ways it’s the Capital of Cool. Frankly, I think they should trademark that and sell it on merchandise. |

Off the top of my head the best ones last year were Booth, Kelley, and McGhee. With the Covid year no longer being a factor, I wonder how that changes things. Surely we’ll be in the running for anyone who puts their name out there. |
