Can I answer š¤? ![]() š sure even tho you werenāt asking me lol hehehe. Texas is a place for the best OHs in the country. 6 rotations is a bit mild, but spears would increase her offensive future at Texas and also have a good team experience which helps the college years be memorable. Wisconsin has become TRANSFER PORTAL UNIVERSITY which isn't attractive to freshman. They want to know their teammates and see who they will grow with as players. Though lots of teams are clearly using the portal, nobody flips teams as much as Wisconsin. They're basically running a pro level recruiting firm. I don't think Sheff is really even trying and fighting for '25 or '26 recruits out there. He is bringing in senior and junior athletes from the portal..... it can get timid for 16 year olds to look at from the outside. I think people are viewing Sheff as a place that isn't trying to find young talent and develop it. He is grabbing juniors and seniors and trying to win his championships that way. I see lots of team chemistry issues this season.... it's hard to get kids to gel quickly on the court. Is he withilding freshman scholarships to wait on the portal? š¤ JE has a great vibe as a coach, cares lots about a 4 year development with his recruits and works hard to set them up for their futures.

Right now, Texas has FIVE (!!) transfers as starters/DS in their preferred starting lineup (Bergmark, Akana, Barnes, Weenas, Skinner). Wisconsin has FOUR (Booth, TTA, Crawford, Franklin) despite playing in a 6-2 which requires more players LOL. Just in case you never learned math, 5 > 4. Texas won the title last year with literally All-Stars transfers all over in his lineup (Akana, Fleck, Skinner, Saige, Caffey). And I would certainly hope Sheff isn't out there trying for '26 recruits, because you know, that would be kinda illegal. Are you implying Nebraska and/or other top schools are already trying for '26 recruits? Damn, the NCAA needs to look into this. As for '25 recruits, you realize Wisconsin currently have a top 5 class right? And just had Sulli Davis, a top 10 OH recruit, on an official recruiting visit a couple weeks ago? And have Spears on another visit (hopefully soon)? And have the top setter in the class coming in for '24 next year? The one that just set USA in the finals to a reverse sweep at the U19 World Championship? Like, what is this terrible troll job LOL?

Scheff last few classes, have been saved by the portal, let's be honest.... his freshman classes aren't that grand. And this usa u19 setter you speak of, only set 1 match the whole tourney, I mean cmon. And she also never started that match either. So saying she was this mvp is a bit absurd.

I donāt know what is happening here, but the original comment made awhile back definitely seemed sarcastic - we are just really wanting Spears to come here.
I donāt think any Texas fans actually believe she wouldnāt fit at Wisconsin.

And this usa u19 setter you speak of, only set 1 match the whole tourney, I mean cmon. And she also never started that match either. So saying she was this mvp is a bit absurd. No, please, where is your source that Sheff purposefully withhold potential freshman schollies for grad transfers LOL? He pursued Swindle, she chose Texas. He went after Ames, she chose Nebraska. He went after Elizabeth Andrews, she chose Stanford instead. Wucherer wanted a schollie promise from like middle school, and only Minnesota was willing to give that. Like, is he supposed to hold on to these schollies then instead of finding transfers for them LMAO? As for freshman classes, ok?? Smrek's class was composed of 4. Two have transferred out. Now, suddenly Wisconsin has two schollies and so they went to transfers. Now, Wisconsin has a freshman class (of 5) coming in for '24. And another of 4 (so far) coming in in '25. And Sheff didn't beg our 5th (not 6th) year seniors to stay LOL. They ALL would have redshirted the COVID spring season if the NCAA didn't give them one more year of eligibility. They also all individually decided to come back without ANY input from Sheff. Literally, this is in Dennis Punzel (our beat writer)'s book about the championship season. So unless you can have a source of them saying that Sheff asked them to stay, stop pulling %*$# out of your ass. Because they've all stated, on record, the opposite. As for Fuerbringer, she didn't start only because Jamie wanted a more physical team, not because she's bad like you're trying to imply LMAO. If anything, neutral observers of that tourney agrees she's a better setter in terms of location and OOS than Flynn. And she WAS one of the main reasons USA came back in the finals, after Flynn gave her a 10-point deficit in the first set to handle LMAO. And, no seriously, you're literally out here trying to claim Sheff and his staff aren't having internal talks about '26 recruits like everyone else? Is this a joke? We had several top '26 recruits at our Elite camp earlier this summer; I'm sorry where tf are you pulling these claims from besides your ass? Literally all of this is just a basically a deranged "WiScOnSiN SuCkS CuZ i SaY sO" with 0 actually legit points.

Oh, I think we all realized in was tongue-in-cheeks, but the Nebraska fan then decided to take the chance to make false and fake claims about Wisconsin's program. Shame they don't have better things to do like watching Nebraska's highlights after Nebraska's youngins pulled out a tough 5-setter on the road last night.

I donāt want to be greedy. Either Spears or Harvey. But getting them both would send me to the moon and back. Thereās certainly an opening there. With Ogbodu, Butler, and OāNeal making significant contributions to the national team this summer thereās never been a more impressive time to be recruiting a middle, and Texas has always been great at recruiting middles in any case. Not to mention coming off the national championship. Man, it would be so nice to beat both Stanford and Nebraska in a clear head to head recruiting battle. I wonāt crumple if we lose her, but it would make me so excited to win this one. This is a good sign, no? I thought she already took her official visit during the Stanford match? Or was this it? Both Spears and Harvey weāre here on unofficial visits. The truth is I donāt know what it means. I was told about a month/month and a half ago that the original plan was to bring everyone in for their official for the Stanford match, but then it was determined they couldnāt bring recruits to the national championship banquet. Iām not trying to put myself out as an expert. I donāt know all the reasons or strategies. But it was decided to only bring in committed recruits and to then bring in Spears and Harvey on their own separate individual visits at a later time. So when Spears and Harvey showed up for the Stanford match and the unveiling of the new championship banner, I assumed it was an unofficial for both of them. But yes, the fact weāre able to bring both of them in for multiple visits is nothing but a good thing. Itās no coincidence both visits coincide with a football home game. You can see in the social media posts they make a big deal out of being on the field before the game. Iām sure part of it is playing into the ridiculous facilities the volleyball players have available to them under the stadium. Anyway, I hope we knock both of these visits out of the park, and while the ultimate goal is to close them and get them on campus, if we do end up coming in second on either recruitment I hope we make it as emotionally painful as possible to say no to Texas and the staff, and keep doors open if there is a change in heart somewhere down the line. As a salesperson there are some deals where the timing isnāt right, or the stars donāt align, but st the very least I could make it where the customer/client hated having to tell me āno.ā Sometimes thatās the only victory we get. Not saying itās the case here. We really need both of these players, so I hope they say yes to Texas. But if they donāt, I hope st least one of them does.

Spears would be a horrible fit for Wisconsin. May I ask what makes you say that? Just that you want her to go to Texas, or is there something specific? I was making a joke. Nothing more to it than that. It was a response to Wisconsin fans coming on to the Texas thread and talking about why Spears should come to Wisconsin. I donāt mind it at all. I was just having some fun with it as a response. In terms of recruiting I donāt think Wisconsin is quite at UTās level, so it would be an exciting - and in my mind, surprising - recruiting victory for the Badgers if she decided on Madison over Austin. But if sheās making a visit Wisconsin has a chance. I firmly believe that. But a horrible fit? I donāt really mean that. Iām just being silly.

Personally, I'm glad that both Spears and Harvey made a second visit after Stanford, that was not our best work. Lackluster play and loss aside, I was at the Stanford match and everything felt flat, atmosphere included. It was much better for Spears' visit for Washington State - even though we lost, the Greg was on fire that night. As for Harvey in this series against BYU, I'm not sure it could have gone any better - two gritty wins, flashes of brilliance, electric crowd.

These things can always change of course, but I've heard Harvey isn't done with her stops in Lincoln either lol this 3-team recruiting battle for her is entertaining.
