I'll give it to USD, I say the nerves & inexperience of the WSU freshmen will show up

The Cougars did beat the Huskies but they lost 4 of their last 6 matches down the stretch and their match against San Diego isn't a rivalry match. Timmer and Jehlarova though international players are still freshman. Outside of Frohling, The Toreros are led by upperclassmen and they've already played at the SSC once this season. I agree with Pablo. That said, I want Pablo to be wrong on this match.

I'll give it to USD, I say the nerves & inexperience of the WSU freshmen will show up WSU played in front of the largest crowd this year in Seattle, and even with all those freshmen, I saw no nerves. They were having fun the entire time. I suspect they won't be rattled by USD.

I'll give it to USD, I say the nerves & inexperience of the WSU freshmen will show up I voted for WSU bc I think they can beat San Diego but I suspect you're right: their inexperience could be fatal. WSU has so many frosh who start for them:
Pukis, Timmer, Lusby, Williams, Jehlarova + Norville (DS). Plus McComber and Myers who sometimes sub in.
Their ceiling is high but their floor is low. Quite the wildcard. I want them to beat San Diego but they'll have to play very well. The Toreros are good.

I'll give it to USD, I say the nerves & inexperience of the WSU freshmen will show up That would sort of be my thinking also. There are really three seasons and each one gets more intense. But WSU did score 22 against Stanford in three straight sets and that's pretty impressive considering the way Stanford has played since Plummer's return. And, they beat U-Dub. This to me is the most compelling 1st round match.

San Diego has beaten the Cougars (BYU) twice. What's another Cougar from Washington State? However, I'd like Washington State to win simply for the novelty.

With Sarah Silvernail, WSU should demolish San Diego. ...if she could get her husband to loan a couple of Longhorns to Wazzu.

I always thought Sarah Silvernail and Sonny Sixkiller would have made a great pair.
WSU in 4.
I called it.

WSU was playing really well at the end of the year- they lost to Stanford, but it was an extremely competitive match. And winning at Washington is no joke.

They have players that come from Germany, Mexico, Czech Republic and Poland. I don't think having to go to Hawaii is going to phase them considering the maturity they have shown just to come to this country and compete at a high level.

It appears that The PAC 12 homers on this thread haven’t seen San Diego play this season.
