Being at a higher altitude that Utah is more than accustomed to, Utes sweep. Jacqueline Quade can’t do it all and the rest of that team is a hot mess.

Factoids about Utah's coach's connection to Illinois:
Prior to coming to Utah, the Grand Rapids, Mich., native was as an assistant coach at Illinois (1988-89). The Illini went 57-12 during Launiere’s stay and made it to two NCAA Tournaments, including a 1988 Final Four showing.
Launiere graduated in 1985 from Aquinas College (Mich.). She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and economics and has a master’s in sports administration from Illinois.

It's all about match-ups. Having never seen Utah play this season, I will say that Illinois seems to have particular trouble with the B1G teams loaded with athletic, high-flying outsides and middles that hit over the Illinois block. If Utah has one or two of those, Illinois could be in big trouble.
The final point I will make is that the most important thing I have learned over the last 3 seasons is to never count out a team coached by Chris Tamas!

Drews is the epitome of the athletic, high flying OH.

Utah is led (offensively) by left handed outside Danny Drews- she is listed at 6'0" but I believe is taller, and is very hard to stop. Then there are Kenzie Koerber (also LH at 6'3"), MB Berkeley Oblad (6'4") and Zoe Wetherington (6'2").

I have a Roku streaming stick and was just able to add the BYUtv channel, for free as far as I can tell. Hope that has me covered for Friday!
Thanks for the heads-up on the broadcast details!

I'm an Illinois grad and a huge fan, but I just don't see them winning this match. They killed me all year in PTW, and I'm sick of it. Now watch them win...

Has Heather Olmstead ever lost a match in the subregionals? She hasn't. BYU has been to the Sweet 16 every year since 2012, and she became the head coach prior to the 2015 season.

I think the biggest cause for this, at least this year, is the loss of Prince forced our 6'4" RS over the OH position. Our new RS is 6'1" - much easier for an athletic OH to hit over. Plus we lost one of the best blocking setters I have seen in 6'2" Poulter, replacing her with 6'0" Brown. Just not as much size covering that side this year.
