The Aggies sweep while hitting .400 as a team. Hans and Rush combine for 24 kills
They had problems with the St Johns serve which they got aced 6 times which is highly unusual. Should be a good game tomorrow with Rice who handled Oklahoma pretty easy but Oklahoma played pretty bad defensively

St Johns mascot is actually The Red Storm in NY. There is a St Johns university near where I live and they are the Johnnies. They're officially the Red Storm but many fans call them the Johnnies. There are shirts, sweatshirts, etc with Johnnies on it. (Not that it proves anything since it's easy to make fan clothing.)
Prior to the 1994–95 school year, the university's nickname was the St. John's Redmen, which referenced the red uniforms worn by its teams in competition. ...The Redmen name still remains popular among fans, however, as does "Johnnies". On September 18, 2009 the new mascot, which was voted on by students, was revealed; Johnny Thunderbird.
It's a pretty natural nickname for athletes from St. John's University (no matter which one).
Ah thanks for the clarification. I was bummed to hear that the Johnnies near me do not have a volleyball team and aren’t the St. John’s everyone is talking about.

Maybe Creighton and Marquette aren't all that after all!

In set 2, Camille Conner took a hard ball off the face and TAMU lost the point. After that play, before St. John’s serve, the R2 noticed Conner was overlapped with the other back row player and helped her get back in the proper spot before Sj served. Is this common practice by an R2 in the NCAA?

I was wondering about that Johnnies nickname since I remember them as the Redmen... back when Chris Mullin played there.
What's next, the Florida State .... choppers?

Maybe Creighton and Marquette aren't all that after all! Hoping that’s true since I picked Dayton over Marquette!
