Foreign living doesn’t bother Michelle Bartsch-Hackley at all. She has a webpage, www.makeeatbake.com, devoted to her culinary experiences abroad.

Received an email today confirming what Josh Whitman said last week about there being no spectators allowed in Huff Hall this year, under Illinois Phase 4 status. Here are some lines of note:
"At this point in time, the current provisions within Phase 4 of the State of Illinois’ Restore Illinois plan do not allow us to host spectators at any indoor event. This would include our home volleyball matches at Huff Hall."
"No volleyball season tickets will be sold for the 2020 season. Should the provisions within Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois plan be updated at any time to allow us to host spectators, the Illinois Ticket Office will announce single match ticket on-sale dates with priority given to season ticket holders."
"As a season ticket holder, you will have the opportunity to renew your same seats from the 2019 season for the 2021 season next fall."
I'm glad season ticket holders will have the chance to renew our seats in 2021. Going to miss Huff this year and rooting for the Illini in person. Hope the team can stay healthy and safe while getting to compete out there.

Not 2020, but I found this video of 2021 recruit Brook Mosher (currently ranked in the top 40 of her class). She has nice range and tempo in her sets and an impressive arm swing. She will be fun to watch at Illinois.

For 2021, the other commits are Caroline Barnes (L - ranked just inside the top 100) and Sarah Bingham (MB - ranked just outside the top 100). Here's a link to a video of highlights for Sarah. www.maxpreps.com/m/athlete/sarah-bingham/lQDjwpGhEeeT-Oz0u-e-FA/videos.htmFor 2022, I believe Tamas is recruiting Alexa Markley and Sophia Stephenson, both 6'2" outside hitters. I'm sure there are several others he's pursuing. I'm surprised we haven't seen any recent verbals following the June 15 deadline, but I hope we'll see some in the near future.

Alexa is being recruited by several schools. I don’t anything about Sophia Stevenson.
They were interested in Ella Wrobel but she went to Wisconsin. But lots of schools were after her too.

Thanks for the inside scoop, Friday and Pasquale! Fun to think about what the future holds for the Illini- fingers crossed that we'll get to see this year's team play, too!

Another posting that caught my eye. (Thanks, notpriddy.) I think Eske could be the X-factor for the Illini if/when the next season begins. The Illinois back row play has been the biggest weakness keeping the Illini from being a consistent Tier 1 team. I think Eske could begin to change that. Super quick. Fearless. Fiery. And the balls somehow just keep popping up to where they should go. She's like a retriever puppy. Maybe more like a Min-Pin. Exactly what the Illini have needed. I've said before that one of the things that truly separates Nebraska from pretty much every other team in the counry is their consistently great back row play. Year after year, though last year was a noticeable dropoff. Tamas was an assistant there and looks like he's been working to recreate that with both his selections of assistants and his recruiting. Eske could be the start.
