Hmm, so the truth about a Bulgarian hammer was true after all. 2020 or 2021?

Both very reputable posters in inside knowledge. Tried googling Bulgarian Women's Junior National Team and pulled up nothing current lol. That's the extent of my insider knowledge lol. I'm curious if this is a recruit for 2020 or 2021

So maybe my thoughts about Robyn holding a scholarship for a foreign or transfer player are correct. Angelica did mention that there may be a Euro pipeline in the future. It may be one of the only ways to bring the Wahine to a Final Four appearance since UH doesn't seem to be picking up blue chip domestic recruits

One would be Aleksandra Georgieva who is 6-2 and plays for the country’ s U 18 team and also a member of the national team. There is a Kathryn Dimitrova who is 6-3. Georgieva is 18 years old and is a real freshman. Dimitrova is about 3 years older but could still come here if she meet the amateur guidelines. Both Stijn and Rado came to UH as older freshmen. Georgieva is from Sofia so Rado could be of big help. volleymob.com/valeriia-gorbunova-and-aleksandra-georgieva-europes-future-stars/

Are you sure you got the right girl? There is another girl with the exact name that graduated from a US college in the past. According to the Aleksandra I’m looking at in her IG she mentioned she is a member of the club team Partizan and a member of the Bulgarian national team. That’s it. Not sure being a member of a club team automatically make you a pro. She could be a pro but I don’t have anyway to find out one way or another. Just hoping she is the one Robyn and staff is after. Looks like she fits what previous posters have described.

Aleksandra Georgieva seems to be the more likely prospect. Koa mentioned Rado and them nothing being from Sofia could be a subtle hint...

I was actually thinking about 2 other prospects who won't be named. Both are 6 rotation hitters and are being courted by big name college programs. One is better than Georgieva and shorter but likely to start at Hawaii and the other is more raw and taller with a higher ceiling. I'm very curious if Robyn has a 2020 OH waiting in the wings

I'm excited for Amber in the middle again -- she brings a lot of enthusiasm and energy to the court

I'm very curious if Robyn has a 2020 OH waiting in the wings If Georgieva ends up in Hawaii, she will definitely start. You don’t win the best OH award for two straight years and voted one of the best player in Europe at age 16 and not start. Hellvig was nowhere near what Georgieva is and she started. Maria Yordanova would make for a dynamic OH but is only 6-0. We will have too many 6-0 or under players on the team. Wagoner, Mia Johnson, Braelyn Akana are all 6-0 or under. BTW...what with the withholding of names? It’s not like other coaches doesn’t know about star players from Europe. Coaches put in tons of hours searching for good players. All good players are highly recruited and are known. If another team was to steal the player away from us then it’s on the coaches not because somebody named the player on a volleyball forum.

Georgieva from Pro to D1? Doubt it. Also, Hellvig flew under the radar and was eclipsed by B. Haak. Of the 2 unnamed prospects, the shorter one might be better than Hellvig. The taller one is a raw Igiede type who is the probably the hammer other posters mentioned

Andrews, the recruit that visited us this past week or two has committed to Baylor. Lets hope Hawaii can land a 2021 recruit soon! Ouch, the Hawaii sweatshirt she was wearing was just a facade then? She would have been better off at Hawaii if she was interested in beach. Oh well... Hoping Hawaii can get some international talent for 2021. Seems to be a plausible way to get the program beyond the Sweet 16 Today, on Bobby Curran's radio show, Coach Ang said they have 2 verbals for 2021. I'm guessing one must be Mia Johnson but I wonder who the other one is. Anyone hear anything?
