What they really need is a young Annika Albrecht type hitter. Strong back row player that can also develop into a starting role after Lexi leaves... They'll take anyone at any position that's even close to Anni, but they're hard to find. Forget her senior year hitting, the serve, pass, and defense would be enough. They still use her tape to teach the current team. If anyone wants to understand how good she was, just watch the title game against Florida and only pay attention to her and not the rest of the action. The type of player she was is simply the most undervalued in all of college volleyball. 6 rotation, 5 tool player who competes. This IMO is the player Texas has always needed to get over the top. People overlook “players” for freakish athletes. What a player and teammate she was.

I actually looked up Albrecht's passing stats for someone the other day. She passed a 2.4 in her snr season. In case anyone isn't sure what that looks like, JWO also passed a 2.4 the same season. Kubik (who's had a good year imo) passed a 2.13 this year, Kenzie passed a 2.07. So yeah, any player that can pass a 2.4 is extremely valuable. Problem is everyone wants one! Nebraska actually had 3 on the same team at one point!

I know........ sigh... 2020 we gotta get things going... Hames is going to a setters camp in Anaheim this spring/summer for 2 weeks. They're gonna work on on those hands of hers. Gotta give hames credit.... she really plays her heart out.

I have been re-watching some things recently and I’ve come to two observations.
Kenzie Knuckles has so much potential to be such a great libero. Sometimes she makes the most incredible reads, passing moves, and other plays, while other times it’s like what the heck happened. Hopefully this next spring season can allow her to develop a little more consistency because I think she has what it takes to end up being really good.
Madi Kubik has some fantastic all around play, but sometimes I forget she is 6’3.” I feel like she plays a little small. I would like to see her hit for a higher efficiency so the Husker offense can greatly improve. However...... a lot of that will depend on Hames ability.
