final four is in omaha again? Unfortunately... Yeah: 2020 Omaha, NE 2021 Columbus, OH
Not like it's rigged for the BIG or anything like that....no....everything is rigged for just Texas (sarcasm)

The crazy thing is, I imagine every other poster on here would absolutely freak out if Austin were to put up a bid to host the Finals. Granted, with the Erwin Center being demolished, there's not a large arena in Austin to host. I think Houston/Toyota Center would be a great host. The convention center is just a short walk away from the arena.

I know that the capacity is much lower though and I think they have certain minimums. I think capacity for the Moody Center is around 11k? Erwin was about 17/18k.

The 2020 is in omaha. Not Lincoln?
So the Austin analogy wouldn't really work. More similar if it were to be held in dallas.

It's basketball season at these other arenas. There's no reason Moody couldn't host. There's an agreement between financier and UT about the number of days UT can use the facility. Not sure if that'd play into decision.

The convention center is just a short walk away from the arena. Coach Elliott confirmed to the media 2-3 years ago that Texas did submit a bid to host, but was not selected.
Seems like those who are being selected have a convention center within walking distance of the sports arena; Texas does not.
As for the Moody Center, I am someone who is not in favor of having capacity at around 10-11k. I think that small capacity will prevent Texas from being selected to host NCAA events. We'll see.

To make it seem like having the finals in Omaha isn't essentially a gift to Nebraska volleyball is just ridiculous. But sure, for the "sake" of semantics, it's in Omaha, where 98% of the arena will be Husker fans. I imagine if the finals were held in any of the major Texas cities, the B10 would cry.

Only if Nebraska actually makes it to the final 4. Which is no guarantee especially when one watches the Wisconsin beat-down x 3.

Definitely one of my favorite games ever. I think Texas had a winning record in Lincoln before they left lol The game in Lincoln, when I was in college, was when we kicked the last second field goal to win after they fumbled the game away.

Come on guys. There's only one "bad" memory of our Big 12 football games against Nebraska in the 1999 Big 12 championship game in San Antonio. Every single one of our victories was a punch in the gut to them and their storied program. My favorite had to be the 1996 championship game in St. Louis as -21 point underdog Texas took Nebraska out of national championship game courtesy of QB James Brown.

The finals were in San Antonio in 2011 but Texas failed to make it losing to eventual champs UCLA in the regional final. I think that is the year that made Coach Elliott think about resigning. Also Del Conte said they plan to host championships in the Moody Center so I assume they plan to bid on volleyball and/or women's basketball.
