Yes and no. If UT (and others) don't allow students back on campus this fall, then I would say yes. Of course if a number of schools don't allow students back on campus, I doubt we have a season in the fall. Couldn't she just stay with the host family she was with before while taking online courses and still play this season? I know they said the big 12 is currently in talks about moving all fall sports to spring which seems more and more likely each day as these cases are not going down. She can't be here on a visa while taking only online classes.

Those are considered two separate classes, at least when I went years and years ago. Chemistry Lab, by it's definition, has to be on campus. Only as an example, not literally meaning she HAS to take Chemistry.

Texas did say most classes will be online except for the classes that absolutely have to be in person such as classes with a lab. Works out for everyone🤘🏾

Well looks like we won't be playing Minnesota or Wisconsin or anyone from the big 10 for that matter. If everyone goes to conference only scheduling then how can you determine seeding and who hosts? Unless they do top 16 host first and second round then everyone moves to one location but I still don't see how that can work because of social distancing and all of that. It's just not going good as of now🤦🏾♂️

So if this season ends up going to the crapper because of COVID, do we redshirt the seniors (O’Brien and Shook)? We don’t have anyone coming in 2021, so it wouldn’t seem to be a scholarship issue.
We know O’Brien will still at least be on campus because of grad school, but Shook might want to move on I guess.

I'd rather we hold off on the gloom and doom worst-case scenarios discussion (since they are depressing, even though potentially realistic) until any final outcomes are determined. Not trying to be in denial, but rather trying to stay optimistic and discuss the upcoming season in a positive light (if possible).

However, if it is all doom and gloom for this upcoming season, I guess we’re fortunate to not have anyone coming in 2021... funny how that all worked out tbh

So parra is still not here and if accepted into Texas probably won't be until the fall so no way she comes in and starts immediately over the other players who are already here so now I think the other spot belongs to Capri. Parra could possibly start later in the season butI really hope capri has worked over the spring and summer and can become a reliable option. This is all being said with the thought there will be a season and I hope there will be or I would even take volleyball in the spring but to cancel all together I just can't take

They can be in the USA even with virtual classes. Maybe this has been holding Parra's entry into UT up? I spoke to the season ticket renewal guy today. Just rumors but the Big 12 will be making an announcement soon. Possible all of the regular season games will be just against Big 12 opponents. That would be a bummer but better than nothing I guess. Maybe they could play each other 3 or 4 times to allow for more games.... Interesting times.

Of course, if O'Brien does join the team, and we have 2 DS subs and the Libero playing back row, then maybe Parra doesn't sub in for Capri. I just think Melanie's serve and ability to hit out of the back row are too valuable to keep her on the bench.

I will never forget those LSU squads of the early 90's which featured dynamic hitters Nyla Shepherd and Monique Adams.
