Spring 2021 Florida 5-2
Notes:
- Would be great if we could get Hammons to serve and pass, but I don't see how it's possible if we want Ceasar/Hall's back row attacks and serves too. If McKissock or Fischer could pass at Hammons' level, we could flip their roles below and give Hammons the opportunity to serve instead of pass. Based on 2020 results like our big block and the offensive weapons we have, a focus on passing is more important than serving even though Hammons may be our best server.
- Cerame wins libero jersey based off her passing. McKissock is faster and more dynamic floor defender, but her passing left too much to be desired in 2020. In my opinion, with Florida's offensive weapons, we need to put emphasis in serve receive and put ourselves in a position to terminate.
- There are 3 rotations where 2 setters are on the court. I wonder if this could help us cover up our perceived weakness of libero secondary setting.
- all rotations have 4 attackers
- Ceasar showed she can hit right back very well. She'll be able to do so 2 of 3 rotations where we don't have a front row RS. In the 3rd rotation, we could have Carlton set for 1/2 rotation like she did in 2018 when she served and allow Hendrickson to hit.
- I believe M2 will be Dooley based on her height and block. She can also thump the ball in front of the setter if set correctly. M1 will be based on who can block and run the best slide between King, Forte and Okammor. There are pros of each player, but I'm leaving Okammor for now b/c Fall experience, running better slide than I've seen King run, King's injury and Forte being new to the team. That being said, I can easily see Forte or King starting in M1.
-Dooley and Carlton can block together for 2 rotations, hopefully opposite of the opponents best OH
- All of this is obviously dependent on Hendrickson, but if she's half as good as everyone says then I think she can make this work.
Monserez can continue to set Carlton, who she's shown the most success with, and limit her setting for Hall, where she has struggled. Front row attacker breakdown by rotation:
- Monserez: Carlton (3x), Dooley (2x), Ceasar (2x), Okammor (1x), Hall (1x), TOTAL = 9
- Hendrickson: Hall (2x), Okammor (1.5x), Dooley (1x), Ceasar (.5x), TOTAL = 5
- Carlton: Okammor (.5x), Ceasar (.5x), Hendrickson (.5x), TOTAL = 1.5
- Total Front Row Attackers: 15.5/18
# rotations each attacker will interact with a setter, including back row attackers:
- Monserez: Carlton (3x), Hall (3x), Ceasar (3x), Dooley (2x), Okammor (1x), TOTAL = 12
- Hendrickson: Ceasar (2.5x), Hall (2.5x), Hammons (2.5x), Okammor (1.5x), Dooley (1x), TOTAL = 10
- Carlton: Okammor (.5x), Ceasar (.5x), Hendrickson (.5x), Hall (.5x), TOTAL = 2
- Total Attackers: 24/36
