So you have Hendrickson hitting instead of Warner? Is Warner injured? For 1/2 rotation only to save subs. I mean ultimately, she doesn't need to hit, but Carlton has set for the 1/2 rotation she's served before and it worked well. Just a nice little wrinkle that I think we should consider. Most likely Carlton would set Ceasar or the M1 anyway. I just know Carlton can't hit out of the back row so this would give us another offensive option if Carlton set for Hendrickson when she serves. Warner should redshirt (if that's even necessary)

*6-2 Has anyone ever won it all with a 6-2 or has Florida ever used a 6-2 and gotten close? We got dang close with a 5-2 just a few years ago and we have the unique personnel and the right number of quality backups to make it a real option this year. I think 5-1 isn't creative enough with all of our options and doesn't hide some of the obvious problems we have well enough.

They defeated Stanford led by Logan Tom & Ogonna Nnamani.

Ummm I was correcting the record as I read it in the prior post... now I realize now we were discussing a 5-2 offense. 🤦♀️

Lauren Forte was in the house this past weekend. I hope she liked her new digs.

The last team to do that is still USC but in 2003 with Anderson and Freeburg I, ChallengeThat, believe that I am correct that USC's last championship running a true 6-2 last came in 2002. A quick review of the stats comparing both 2002 & 2003 semi-final and championship matches are as follows: Combined Stats for 2002 Semi-Final (vs. Florida) & Championship (vs. Stanford) Matches
PLAYER | Games Played | Total Assists | Toni Anderson | 8 | 67 | Tracy Lindquist | 8 | 54 |
Combined Stats for 2003 Semi-Final (vs. Minnesota) & Championship (vs. Florida) Matches
PLAYER | Games Played | Total Assists | Toni Anderson | 7 | 95 | Kimi Freeburg | 2 | 7 |
I don't mean to hijack this Florida thread, so I'll throw in some Florida 2020 something: I like their potential, but they need to figure out the setting situation if they want to win it all. I know, that's Captain Obvious talking. Either way, I am rooting for Mary to win her first national championship. She came soooo close back in those Aury Cruz days and that 2017 season. Go Gators!!! Thank you, Coach Mary Wise, for all you have done and are doing for the game over the years!

Less than compelling conclusion to that journey thus far, unfortunately.
