Florida/Mizzou officially rescheduled for April 12-13. Thankfully, Florida's bye week and Missouri's Auburn week lined up.
Florida gets the next 3 straight weeks at home. Arkansas then Mizzou will be best possible ramp for Kentucky. Likely the SEC's 3 other NCAA teams.
Hopefully they get the MSU postponed matches in on April 2-3 before selection show instead of playing no one for a week and a half after Texas A&M. Would be awesome if they could sneak Texas or Baylor in there too while they're in Texas.

Rewatched the match today... wow! This offensive performance is exactly what I’ve been waiting for. I especially loved how aggressively Holly was swinging. I think sometimes she plays too safe- I love seeing her take good rips at the ball. It also seemed like she and Marlie connected much better today. And I also am loving McKissock. She continues to impress me. She dug some cannons from Deberg!

How we feeling about UK?
Mizzou was the best opponent to ramp us up for this major test.
I'm glad it's on senior weekend for that extra motivation, not that any should be needed.
I believe Hammons is transferring for beach, but does anyone know if Carlton, King and Soko have made decisions? I imagine they may all opt out of their free year given their current 5th year status.

[newbie post don't rip me to shreds] I think Florida can be very competitive against Kentucky. It's been a while since Kentucky was tested. I think Kentucky's middles could be exposed by a taller and more physical team... Tealer and Goetzinger are impressive but Dooley and Carlton could cause them problems. Carlton has been hitting high and hard from the right. I also don't think Kentucky serves too tough. If Florida can be in system with all hitters involved, it will be a fun matchup.

Hendrickson made her college debut tonight (I believe) but only played DS for Carlton in the third set. Thought Wise would have put Sokolowski in for Monsarez for a point or two and let Birdie set but didn’t happen.

It was a weird move. Maybe she's getting Birdie used to life in the 6-2 next year? Speaking of next year, what's the lineup look like? I'm looking ahead a bit sooner than normal b/c this has been the longest season ever. I hope we go with a 5-2 with Hendrickson setting in the front and Warner as the RS. Otherwise, starters will likely be the same as this year sans Carlton. But I guess we should see what the transfer portal brings us first after the gifts of Carlton, Ceasar and Forte in back to back to back years. |
