I like how Skinner said something to the effect of “it took everyone’s involvement since 2005 to get here...” I’m assuming that’s when he became coach? And yeah, shows others programs that they can rise and shows players how their contributions can affect a whole program, even without the accolades Yes and no. Better be careful with what you show... you can say you can win a natty in volleyball in the SEC. However, when you look deeper at Kentucky’s history, they’ve been good since day one of Skinner’s era. No other coach in the history of the conference can match that kind of success. Surely you didn't mean that last sentence. Mary Wise went to 5 Final Fours in her first 8 seasons. 13 times the SEC Coach of the Year. But you're certainly right that Skinner was good from day one. However I do think the current coaches at Missouri, A&M, Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia have been successful early in their tenures and I believe one of them will win a conference title before 12 years, which is how long it took Skinner to win his first. Can they win a national title? That's a tall task (just ask Florida, Wisc, Minn). So I don't think agean09 was taking anything away from Skinner by his comment. Quite the opposite: giving him credit for being a builder at place where no one thought he could win a NCAA tournament.

Super excited about the future of the SEC! Within 5 years I think we'll be "the" conference. Lots of good things going on and good changes at schools. Bring on fall 2021!

Bring on fall 2021! improved for sure, but let's pump the brakes on a statement like this. How many teams made it to the Sweet 16 from the SEC this year? Might have a couple more rungs of that ladder to climb first!

Definitely was crediting him for his hard work and for all the work that players and coaching staffs put in for the long haul because sometimes it takes time for a program to become established and find the success that brings trophies. Kentucky has been killing it the last 5 years or so. Florida definitely not by themselves at the top anymore

Carolina there should be some of them that start building programs. Combine that with already established teams and the SEC should be heading in the right direction.

The fact that you do not know that that is the standard for open level usav kind of proves my point. I've coached teams that finished 2nd in 17 Open, and 3rd in 16 Open at Girls Junior Nationals....and have never had anyone close to all of those criteria you listed. If you had one dominant kid, they may be able to do that against non-open competition....but that isn't what D1 is like. Just my $.02. say you're stupid without saying you're stupid...
