OMG... Watch History Decoded episode on Bohemian Grove, it's pretty good and in a way funny. Will have to check it out. Thx for the recommend. A friend of mine was on the show and his stories about that episode are absolutely hilarious! If I get his permission, I'll share some of the back stories that occurred...

We cannot ignore that ESPN chose to broadcast this at the Final Four with a huge audience with clear audio a religious prayer between two universities, one non-religious. It should be discussed. That’s why there’s 30+ pages on it. I don’t think this thread has gotten nearly as ugly as it could have. There is no law against showing religious activity. I'll never understand why people get so uppity about it.

Lol there is a single poster you can thank for the political board being removed. Don’t think I’m allowed to post who though but it’s not hard to figure out . This sounds familiar, it was like 20 liberals against one single Conservative qnd the big bad Conservative shutdown the board because the panty waists couldn’t take it? What happened? have you ever made it through an entire discussion without pointless name-calling? And what is your obsession with the upper band of women's undergarments?

Anyone who prays in public probably needs to read Matthew. A few exerpts: Matthew 6:6 ESV / 492 helpful votes But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. Matthew 6:1-34 ESV / 478 helpful votes “Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven. “Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. “And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. ... Matthew 6:5 ESV / 393 helpful votes “And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. Yes, but I don't think they were doing it for show. I think they would have done the same thing if the stadium was empty and ESPN wasn't there with their cameras. It sounds like from other posters that they do it after every match, and I would guess after every practice, regardless of who is there.

It's not just Baylor, they are bringing out their opponents whenever they can, as well. There's no show to it at all

People have been starting wars for centuries over religious activity. And we have heard helpful hints like ""Never Discuss Politics or Religion in polite company" throughout our lives. So you may not understand it but there is precedence for this all over the place!!

People have been starting wars for centuries over religious activity. specifically, people have been starting wars for centuries to try to stop other people from being able to practice religious activity that they don't like. (and/or people have used religion as a veil to cover wars launched to grab land/resources/power)

So you may not understand it but there is precedence for this all over the place!! Religion is NOT the primary reason for war. People have done a lot of evil in the name of many things. Atheists, Stalin and Mao are responsible for appx. 100 million 20th century deaths. Those two Atheist are history's all time leaders in the killing category, but I wouldn't use that fact to argue for mandatory prayer circles. Where is that manual of What to Incorporate in a VB Match? If the Baylor prayer is so obviously inappropriate why do we see these diverse opinions? BTW, I personally don't give a singular pinch of monkey sh!t whether ESPN choose to televise the prayer or not.

People have been starting wars for centuries over religious activity. specifically, people have been starting wars for centuries to try to stop other people from being able to practice religious activity that they don't like. Not a distinction with any meaning. What they didn't like was that the other side wasn't practicing the same religion as they were. Anyway, it has nothing to do with volleyball. No one is starting a war over a volleyball prayer circle.

Sorry to bring this up on page 30-something of this burning dumpster, but the title of the thread still bugs me.
It should be Prayergate. Not "The Prayer Gate."
I could even tolerate making it two words: "Prayer Gate." But not "The Prayer Gate."
The whole "gate" thing started with Watergate, which was the name of the office/apartment complex in D.C. that was the subject of the break-in that led to Nixon's downfall.
You'd never refer to it as "The Watergate." Or even "The Water Gate."
Speaking of one word versus two words:
Butt Cheeks. Should that be one word, or should you spread them apart?

If people worked this hard to change the world for the better as they do complaining about a simple prayer, imagine the strides we could make? We all just want Lexi to be happy No, you don't.
