Really a shame this isn't Stanford vs Utah. Even though Utah barely beat the 7th best team in the B1G, they deserve to play Stanford as late as possible in the tournament. A double digit loss team “deserves” to be in the national championship match? What is happening... They would deserve to play Stanford later, had they not lost so many 5 setters during the season. Alas, going 6-7 in those 5-setters sealed Utah's fate as a non-seed (though they probably could have been ahead of BYU or Purdue).

Looking forward to Saturday night to see if Wisconsin has an answer for Plummer.
Should be a good battle, regardless and hoping the Badgers can break through for that first Title.

And if they can hit through that Stanford defense and Stanford block. WI should be much better on defense and in transition than MN. MN had to just send a lot of balls back over due to poor passing, thus giving Stanford another chance to set their offense (not good). Inevitably, WI will have to do that too at times, but their passing is better so not as much and they have the hitters to do more damage when moderately OOS. But no back row attack (did I here that correctly in the Baylor match?). Each team has to deal with varied attack options.

I think it will be the best final game of this decade. Plummer is hitting crazy numbers, Wisconsin has best middle duo and setter in the country. It will be fun to watch Hentz against Wisconsin offence.
If I were Hambly, I would say my middles to focus on slide attacks and let Wisconsin OH's hit against solo block and ask Hentz to cover it. When you stop Rettke-Hart, it's much easier.
When Wisconsin gets stuck in some certain rotation to side out, Sheffield shouldn't insist on defensive specialist and let Haggerty get in, hit backrow attack.

Why did I think Wisconsin had more key senior graduating? They have a LOT coming back; should be contending next year as well.

Well first of all, I’m super happy to see that group of seniors on Stanford be able to keep playing and especially in the championship match. That said, I think this is the season they can be beat especially by Wisconsin which in my opinion will probably be back next year in a similar situation especially with Dana returning. I really want a new Stanford national championship shirt but it won’t be easy, I just want to see an entertaining match not a boring sweep. With Clark and Hentz I think it will be a showdown. It’ll be a little heartbreaking for them to lose to Wisconsin but hey they deserve it if they do and they have all the tools to do it with.

Unfortunate that they were in the same regional as Stanford from a conference perspective. Same with Nebraska and Wisconsin. However, even if Utah had gotten a seed as many thought they should, they may have still ended up in that Regional playing against Stanford exactly as they did. If they had gotten the 16th seed instead of Purdue, gone on the road to beat Baylor at Baylor and then beat Wisconsin last night in the semis, they they would deserve to be playing Stanford in this match tomorrow. Otherwise, not so much.

Wisconsin's back court will be a need. May take sometime to get it figured out. Clark has had a great senior year.

Wisconsin's back court will be a need. May take sometime to get it figured out. Clark has had a great senior year. Backrow has been the engine that has got this team going. Clark will be a big miss, and Dodge's passing, for all her critics, is a string suit of the team. Still, they have the parts to make it work. Barnes probably takes libero. Anna MacDonald will be a DS with Izzy Ashburn. They may bring in Whitehead or Gregorski. But I'm guessing Haggerty and Loberg do more receiving next year, and they try to get a backrow attack option going. They will miss her block, but they'll have 3 highly ranked players competing for Duello's spot on the right.

This’ll be a good match with the two best setters in the country going at it.
