That feels a little lighter than 2019. You basically trade Washington x2 and Baylor for Utah and Kentucky and play Marquette in Milwaukee.

I hope they go to Utah about 3 days early, especially those Illinois kids...

I was not downplaying Utah or Kentucky. Those should be great preseason matches. Just that, at first glance, there were more top-10 level matches a year ago. Even Marquette was in the top-10 for a while and was borderline top-15. Not sure they will be that level next year without Barber. Speckman graduates as well. But, Barber was their monster.

I assume week 1 is Aug 28/29 ? Yep. I confirmed by counting backwards from the week of the NCAA finals in December. 3 weeks of tourney, 10 weeks of Big Ten, 4 weeks of preconference.

So Utah is labor day weekend? Oh, this is getting even more promising.
Anyway, in banquet news:
The food was kind of lousy, except for the cake. The steam table items had been on those steam tables for what seemed like hours.
Bring It: Clark Most Improved: Hart
Clark has a torn labrum and will have surgery Barnes has a torn labrum and ? Dodd was once asked whether she wanted to continue playing, because she wasn't performing to her potential. Dodge had some bad moments early in her career, and a lot of Camp Randall stair runs were done because of it. By everyone. She also wasn't very receptive when Clark first joined the team (well d'uh) but welcomed Barnes.
Clark gave a very nice speech. Everyone else did fine, but I thought hers was especially good.
It is indeed as we suspected, the season turned around at 17-12 PSU. My only general comment on Sheffield's speech is that sometimes he overshares details that in my opinion are not appropriate for a general audience. It always ends up with how so and so player is so great now, but I don't think the level of detail as to what "went wrong" is ideal.
I do like how he recounts specific matches and how the sets unfolded, which really provides insight into how the team responded to adversity.
I'm sure rainbow will provide a more elaborate overview. At the end we sang Varsity, which I think was something new.
Rettke was wearing heels and no exaggeration was either 6'11 or 7 ft tall.

Rettke was wearing heels and no exaggeration was either 6'11 or 7 ft tall. We’re all doomed. Close the forum. It’s over.
