And I think Rutgers's position is deserved. They were better than all the teams below them by the end of the season, though they were swamped by NW early on. Northwestern should be better. I don't know what is going on at NW, but it was pretty clear early in Davis's tenure that his style of coaching didn't work in the women's game. Seems to also be some general team management issues as well. NW should be a hot recruit. Its academic reputation is stellar and its in Chicagoland! I've been to both Welsh Ryan and Huff and of the two IL facilities, Welsh is better. Both campuses are nice. It's the only private Big Ten School. If you want to go a private tool with a good vb program in the Midwest, you won't have the same caliber conference. It's a head scratcher.

I've seen Cathy George play pepper in high heels, and that really changes your perspective.

why? She’s had 3 horrible seasons in a row and just got last in the B1G This season: literally a covid season. One of the most affected in the conference. Best player was out for half of the season. 18/19 weren't great.... but they lost a lot of talent from 2017 and were in the position to rebuild. firing her would be tragic and undeserved.

I mean I like George but her in game adjustments and subbing players out every 3 seconds is questionable at best. I would at least think her seat is getting warm

In their defense, their admission standards are much higher than the other top academic big schools. Michigan, Wisconsin which are great schools can get kids admitted that NU can’t.

Over the long haul she’s been good, she’s well liked and a hard worker. If you go through their athletic department men’s and women’s there are a ton of coaches who have been there a long time that were never very competitive l. She’s done well enough, gone about her business professionally at a school that doesn’t fire Olympic sport coaches who are average.

Northwestern should be better with the players that they have now.

Purdue, Rutgers, Iowa, Indiana and Maryland share the B1G Iron Lady trophy for competing in 20 matches each. Cheers to them for navigating and gutting it out throughout a rough 2020-21.
