Assuming Scottee is baylee Johnson’s sister (old USC setter) Allee and Baylee Johnson both bombed out at the Collegiate level. The best one was Sydnee Johnson, and she didn't even go to college. Sydnee beat out her older sister as a freshman in HS, and fended off little sister Scottee as a senior.

Thinking of it all though, Michigan has let some really good in state talent go elsewhere. In the setting department, Alexa Rousseau and Jordyn Gates comes to mind, NW and Arkansas. Some pin players that slipped through like Addie Vanderweide to Iowa, Maradith OGorman to MSU and Madi Chinn to Purdue. Ellie Ruprich for South Carolina would have been SUCH A GET for Michigan too given their lack of depth in the middle but she is thriving in the SEC! All-american material... sorry had to reminisce When you say “let” them get away I’m assuming you meant they didn’t offer or pursue those players? If not, that wouldn’t be them letting them get a way, it’s recruits having free will and choosing to compete elsewhere. Yes, poor wording on my part, I am not totally aware whether or not any of them were pursued. Really, my point being, is that I wish Michigan did a little more scouting in their own back yard because there is SO MUCH talent to look at. I would be curious to know who they all go after within the state. That being said though comparing through the rosters for Michigan the past couple of years, it is growing more in more in home state players which is nice to see. Speaks to the growth of the sport within the state as well.

Looking forward I hope they can keep Harper Murray to stay home and play. i heard Nebraska and NW are her top looks right now but that list is growing.. I think if Jones and Mruzik can level up michigan vball to a more elite status, that could be very tempting for her.

Still can’t believe MSU let Grant get away. She’s going to immediately be the best libero in the Big Ten.

I wouldn't be shocked to see Pertofsky at MB. It would only happen if the other 2 got injured. She's really finding her place on the right.

I’m not sure all of those players make Michigan better. A few, but not most. Agreed. Not Gates, Rousseau, or Chinn. I don't understand all of the skepticism surrounding Johnson on this thread. She's better than all of the setters mentioned except for Cullen.

L to R: Allee, Baylee, Sydnee and Scottee

Cathy redshirting Grant last season was a big mistake, and she only has herself to blame for that.

Nebraska and Northwestern seem to be completely different programs and schools. very interesting. I would think that a kid who likes Nebraska wouldn't like Northwestern and vice versa.
